Hi all,
I got my hands on my ZX6R - 06 model yesterday evening, green color. No mods done yet, but hv put money in to get new exhaust , double bubble, tank protector etc on first service..
Came to office today and i never reached so refreshed in office..
Few points noted on the way:-
1. I have Shoei XR1000 and should never leave the string hanging loose.. It hurts at 70mph.. Evil or Very Mad
2. I have summer gloves.. VERY BAD IDEA. they look nice but my hands were frozen by the time i reached office.
3. Visor keep getting fogged up. To avoid that had to keep it little open.. so my normally hot lips were ice cold Twisted Evil . Realised that if speed is over 80 then you can keep it closed, and it fogs and clears very quickly.
4. Keep getting feedback (or i think i did), that back tyre is slipping away.. but nothing really.. think just the confidence...

Thanks for reading so far. Hope it's useful/interesting to some of you new riders. I have only done DAS, passed my test this monday and bought a ZX-6R!!! And it all started just last month!!

Twisted Evil
Cheers,
Dew

I too have a Shoei XR1000 but mine's got a pinlock visor fitted. Get one - it'll mean you can have your visor closed without it misting up. I've also got a Shoei breath guard (which I took off my Raid) which fits inside and covers your nose so also stops the breath misting up the visor. It also keeps your nose warm! The combination of the two work really well for me.

I've also got summer gloves, but have recently got some inner liners to pop inside. I don't like proper winter gloves as I find them too bulky and like to feel the controls.

Glad you're enjoying your new bike!

The ninjas are traditionally set up quite firmly.

I like it, but some don't. It may be this that's giving the impression the rear is skipping. Probably just a case of getting used to the bike.

There's various anti-fog methods that do work. I like the 'pin lock' system that comes with my Raid II.

Yep, even so much as losing your balance whilst backing the bike out of the garage will result in scratching, scuffing and cracking all that plastic Shocked

I was told by my dealer that it will only help till 10 mph or less speed. Also, they hv to drill hole in plastic, so if i ever decide to take it out, it's gonna look ..arghhhhhhhhh.. still thinkin...

Dew
PS: Today morning, happily followed a copper filtering on A40-M40!!!!

On track, crash mushrooms have meant that after crashing at over 100mph I've been able to ride the bike back to the pits under it's own steam.

However, I haven't been so impressed by R&G ones myself.

I dunno and depends what you mean by 'odd' - the ones I have on my race SV this year I've been very impressed by - 8 crashes by me and still doing the job. They were on the bike when I got it, so don't know the company.
They do look a bit 'functional'; but a lot of the crash mushrooms that look pretty can actually damage more than they save.

If it can help in high speed crash then i think will go for it. i was surprised when the dealre said anything over 10mph and it will give way!! Confused
googled it and no company says till what speed it can help.. guess will have to spend more time finding one.

Thanks.
