I wonder if any of you have any recommendations for some good (but not sick) scary films for tomorrow night - Halloween Twisted Evil

For reference I saw Hostel last night and was not impressed! talk about gory for no reason! Sick

Anyway recommendations for scary films would be appreciated.

There was a Top 100 Scariest films thing on last on Channel 5, I didn't watch it but Creep was up there fairly high I hear.

I rented that once to watch for a film night, but some very Christian annoying bint invited herself along and we had to watch something else because she objected to it morally. Rolling Eyes

Also good horrors, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm St 1, Texas Chainsaw, Ring (Jap version), Blair Witch. All good for lights-out fun. But not as good as proper lights-out fun. Wink

Most horror films fail when you see what the 'bad guy' is, Creep included, build up was good then it went down hill. Same as The Decent.

Evil Dead is quite good, very old but scary if you don't like horrors. Do you get scared easily, if so i'll list a few films down, if not there's not really many scary films without being gory.

I am a little girlie sometimes and do get scared quite well!!!

I watched the top 5 of the scariest films on tv a few days ago but didnt think much of their choices:

Top one was .... and now I've forgotten the name of the film but its the one with "Here's Jonny" as the main catch phrase of the whole thing! - good film but not really the scariest!

So any suggestions?

You will probably like The Ring, The Grudge, The Decent, like above Blair witch is quite good because it's so simple. Evil Dead is quite an old film but will probably do the job.

Zombie films? 28 Days Later, Dawn Of The Dead etc.

How about Christine, by Steven King.

A car that goes on a murderous rampage.

Sounds quite shit, but it is actually rather good. Laughing

The new modern 'scary' films don't fill you with that Halloween feeling like some of the older films. Also the Jason films are good or Amytiville Horror.

Amyteville Horror was quite a good film, I have to admit that I have not seen any of the Jason films. Embarassed

Agree. I think it's a great film, marketed as a Rom Com Zom - a romantic comedy. With Zombies. Laughing

If I don't do the local ghost walk, I may well have to watch that tomorrow night!

Day of the Triffids. Razz Laughing

I havent seen a better horror film than the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre personally, all modern film's are anything but scary. They need to be far less graphic and let the viewer do more of the work (ie use their imagination) for them to be scary for me. Admittedly Texas Chainsaw Massacre is reasonably graphic.

I dont think you can beat the original Psycho. Or the Birds. Good stuff Thumbs Up The modern ones are usually pap (OTT gore for gores sake - what you don't see is more scary - thats why Creep was great until the monster showed up and then it was cack)

I agree. Birds was a good film. Those damn freaky birds.

I also agree about Creep, the monster was crap! An unhealthy man that lived his whole life in the underground...no sun etc..yeah very scary. Just kick his arse and knock him out. Freaky little mofo.

Laughing
