Posted: 18:22 - 01 Nov 2006 Post subject: Overflow on bikes? and Oil? |
 |
|
I noticed a few weeks back I was leaking fuel, and I gather a small amount of oil (it was dark on the floor)
Now, checking the bike over today it seems to be leaking more and more.
Its comming out of a tube. The tube hangs down inbetween the Gears and brake. I thought it could be an overflow pipe? As on cars. But, when I get to brighton I normally have less then half a tank so It cant be fuel overflowing.
Anyideas? Also, around midnight it was bitterly cold and the petrol had crystalized at the end of the rubber tube
Other question......
Bike oil light came on. Got some oil, the small 7 quid bottle.... Now, I cant find anywhere in the Cagiva Supercity manual where to put it.
Checked around the bike. Small cap with Oil printed on it... Pulled it out, small dip stick - No min/max line. I wasnt too sure if this was the right place to put it added a small amount, got going.... Everything fine so added the whole bottle.... Oil light still comes on.
Question is, is there only one place to add the oil?
A sad as it sounds im clueless about bike as you can see and help would be gratefull.

Post a pic of where you poured the oil sounds like it went in the gearbox. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Yeah you've put it in the gearbox. Won't do any immediate harm unless your 2-stroke oil does actually run out. I don't know where the proper filler is on your bike but I'd bet it's under the seat. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

I have the manual, but, TBH its worth shit
Anyhow, found the oil box... its back right of where I sit. Filled it nicely and the light is now out.
I just hope putting half a litre in the gear box wont do it any harm.
Other then that, what about the overflow pipe im on about too? |
