Hi,

Following on from my 'falling off side stand' incident I'm trying to find a replacement generator cover. I've spotted one on Ebay but it's for a G ZX6R, and I've got a J ZX6R.

Physically the G is smooth and has kawasaki stamped on it, the J has a rippled affect.

So, the question is: will the G Model part fit my J Model bike? Secondly, can I re-use the gasket when fitting a new one?

[I've contacted the seller, he rekons it will fit but said to call a Kawasaki dealership to make sure, all they can tell me is that as the part numbers are different they can't be sure the internal gubbins is the same]

Thanks Thumbs Up

As long as the mating surfaces are smooth and grease free then the gasket may be used again (as long as its in good nick to start with Laughing ), then again they are only a couple of quid in the 1st place.

Ask the seller if he'll take some pics of the internal side of his, so you can compare.

My generator cover is still on the bike and I need to be using the the bike day to day. I'm hoping that someone may have done this before so, if it does fit, I can order it and do the job in one go.

Cheers tho! Thumbs Up
