Just wanted to say Hi,

Last road a Suzuki GP100 twenty two years ago and did part one of the test, but never managed to get around to doing the other part, silly really as it seems that it would have been easier to do it in 1984.

So after all these years spent in cars, I did my theory on 3rd October and passed and CBT was completed on 7th October (waste of £105 if you ask me) and now I have bought a Yamaha YBR and will take my test before May next year, possibly do a DAS. I wanted to have private practice with a 125 because I can only get things right by doing them over and over again.

Prior to my test I bought cheap, old 125 and gotta loadsa miles under my belt. Rode it for 3 months, then did my DAS.

I found the info on this posting, very useful. it tells you what to expect from the test. You will probably find it a bit different from when you did Part One, years ago.

To be honest, I did think about getting a cheap older bike, but memories of the Suzuki GP was that the clutch was dodgy, the indicators seldom worked and I didn't fancy riding what could turn out to be a wreck. So I bought a two month old YBR with 800 miles and in mint condition, I may take a loss next spring when I sell her, but not really too bothered, I lose loads on cars anyway.

Although, I don't remember small bikes being this slow all those years ago...

Good choice not buying a completely new one, you get all the advantages of a new bike with the warranty and the reliability, without the terrible depreciation.

The YBR seemed to have taken a huge hit in depriciation, in just 8 weeks it lost £600, but yes as you say it was someone else's loss....

Just need it for practice, I still intend to do DAS.
