Well, can't say its a suprise. Knock on effects could give us an interesting few months.
Might as well fill your petrol tank before the prices go up again.

You know it'll be another 5-10 years before he actually gets snuffed though. Appeal after appeal.

To be fair i dont see /quite/ how what hes done is much different to bush, but never mind.

technicly by there law the appeal must be lodged within a week and then the sentence must be carried out within 30 days thereafter.
I was reading that the foraign secretary welcomed the sentence, (ironic I thought coming from one that would be dead against her own country bringing the sentence back.
I think it was only the lib dem leader that made sence in his quote as he was against it, rather seeing him being incarcerated for the rest of his life.
I dont think it will make that much of a diff to petrol prices as It looks like more people are dying there now than "in the war".
Im not sure if I agree with his sentence or not as its not really punishment although it does work out cheeper keeping him.

I believe they sentenced a lot of iraqis to death when they went to war so whats one more to the list.

The way in which he differs from Bush revolves around the method used to bring them to power.

Saddam was placed in power by us because we thought that the only way to control a country as naturally unstable as Iraq was to have a warlord that would rule with an iron fist, and to fuck with the consequences. We seem to have short memories of this though, and now we have 'liberated' Iraq the suddenly free peoples are going at it hammer and tongues. We'll just end up replacing him with some other nutter that can bring the damn place to heel.

Bush got into power through working the massively corrupt democracy in the US. The idiot voting public decided to shoot themselves in the foot and choose Bush over Gore despite the fact that there is no doubt that Gore was a candidate head and shoulders above Bush.
