Hi everyone, I'll doubled this as my Hello msg as its my first post. Laughing

I ride a 1992 cg125 brazil. i bought it six months ago. I've recently had the engine replaced as the previous one started to sound like a cross between a hammer drill and a diesel tank. I was told the crank was on its way and a new engine would be best.

The new engine is in place and it sound loads better. much quieter.
I think the engine seems to run a bit flat. it gets up to fifty and then doesn't get to sixty quite a quick as the previous one. When I downshift coming to a roundabout or slowing down it backfires.
The old one never did this. I've had new engine for two days and its got 1 months warranty so i want to get this fixed while its free.

Has anyone got any idea what the problem is as I dont want fobbing off when i take it in. May stand better chance if i have an idea what i'm talking bout.

Thanks

Nick

it sounds like you have an airbox air leak, check all the connections between airbox and carbs.
another possibility is exhaust leak
