Hey all i have a few questions which i need a little help with, i have a fzr400 3gen1 (1988) which in my opinion looks a little out dated, dont get me wrong the retro look is very nice and i will be keeping all the parts i change so i may change it back if i want to, i have been looking into getting the R6 fairings and fitting them to my bike, i know a few people have done this and am wanting any advice and help, also i want to have the 03+ fairings if possible as they are more stylish, I dont intend on keeping the R6 badges on as this would be silly if i was to come up against another 600 Embarassed , I just want a slightly more stylish bike and seeing as im on a restricted liecence and cant afford the collosal insurance premiums and also another bike i thought this may be the best way, once i am off my restricted liecence i will more than likely fit the fzr600 engine into mine anyway thus therotically becoming an R6 (just a little bit slower). I thanks anyone who can help me in my quest and point me in the right direction. Thanks will.

www.fzrarchives.com/ipb Wink Thumbs Up

There is a section on hybrids, R4's are a very popular bike to have. Many of the 600 parts will squeeze into the smaller 400 frame. Whether newer parts fit is another story, a little fab and modding will be needed in most instances.

Edit: Just noticed you have already posted this on the FZR forum Embarassed

Try this for a little info:

The FZR400/600 hybrid does look quite a fun bike. Would like to see one being built

Seen some of the specs of one of the R4's:

Arrow '89 FZR400 frame
Arrow '02 YZF600 engine
Arrow '97 tank
Arrow '96 front end, wheels, and shortened swinger
Arrow Brembo hydraulic clutch
Arrow Fox TC
Arrow full V&H SS2R 520 w/ stock ratio
Arrow jetted
Arrow GP shifting
Arrow R6 tail (aluminum subframe in progress

Is this enough mix and match? Laughing
