 |
|
Ok, having discovered dodgy HT leads on my CBR 400 tri-arm, I got a full replacement set of coils, HT leads and plug caps off a gull-arm, from a breakers. Now, apart from the coils being located in different areas on both bikes (on mine, they're positioned behind the air-box, on the gull-arm they're located at the front of it) I have discovered that the resistances of both are quite different! Is there any way that I can go ahead and replace mine with the gull-arm ones (understanding I'll have to position them differently) - as in, is the resistance going to really affect the running, even the firing of the bike?
Many thanks for any help! ____________________

I think the danger is the mismatched coils will damage the ECU - you probably don't want that

Yeah - that's what I'm afraid of! But would it be ok to just use the plug caps then until I can get decent replacement leads? ____________________

Thanks Finpos! Can't use the leads from the Gull-arm cos they're too short! ____________________
