Bike friendly pubs in peak district?

With the aim for a small (10 max) collection of rag tag hairy biker sorts camping and telling lies by fireside..

The ideal place would be fairly remote, closer to the middle of nowhere the better, and have some fairly minimal camping facilitys (um, toilets and water), but not overly problematic if there none..

Will be after january sorta time, any ideas? (going to phone arround some and go check them out sometime)

I was looking to see if there are any wigwam parks in that area. Only one I can find is in Westmorland in the Lake District though.

You'll have trouble finding an 'official' campsite that allows campfires. They are very few and far between. I can only think of one offhand which is in Glencoe in Scotland.

Never seen any signs for wigwam parks or similar in the peak district. The area is so small and centrally located, any such places would be sold out at highprices to holidaying families anyway.

What you planning chris? Maybe the best bet would be to find a pub next to a farm, and see if there's any chance of the farmer letting you camp with fires.

theres one very promiseing one with 20pitches, seems just right, can't imagine they do much buisness that time of year so hopefully it would be incentive enough to let us set fire to things there..

otherwise pesting some local farmer types might be just the tickett

You're spoilt for choice for pubs in the peaks, including biker friendly ones. I've been living here a few months and sampled the following, with bike, and never had a problem. They all serve good real ale too -

The Cat and Fiddle obviously.
The Monsal Head Hotel
The Church Inn, Chelmorton
Bull i'th Thorn on the a515 south of Buxton

The Red Lion at Litton is a gorgeous little pub but probably not great if there's a group of you.

Ride off in any direction and you'll soon find a decent boozer!

A group of us stayed at The Miners Standard, Winster, Derbyshire
very nice people serves great food and real ale as well,they have a beer garden and a field to pitch tents toilet block but no showers also parking area next to the beer garden as well as at the front of the pub
