If your lock is so worn that the key can come out in the on position theres a fair chance you can stick any similar key in and it will work.

It seems a bit pointless getting a new key for a worn barell, might as well replace the whole thing with a good one to stop it happening again.

only thing is that if i do that then im gonna have to fork out money for a new fuel cap and find another seat with a key from somewhere. if i got a new key for it i'd just start putting the keys in pocket after i'd started it from now on. also i've tried a number of similar keys and none of them will turn it, which is odd cuz when i got home after trying to look for them for ages, i turned the ignition off with a penny?. Hi

Check the locks carefully for a serial number (also the owners handbook if you are lucky enough to have the original one). If you are lucky there is one and you may be able to order a key from that.

All the best

Keith

Hey,

I know its a bit late now, but if it happens again take the barrel to a good lock smith. The recovery guys snapped the key off in mine when some nob knocked me off. Cost £7 quid for a new key, he made it simply using the barrel. No idea how.

Cheers,
Shaun.

Erm why not simply pluck out the broken piece of key?

Weld or superglue it back to the original bit... It'll be more than strong enough to allow a new copy to be cut.

ffs, Evil or Very Mad a new key couldn't be ordered for it so I've had to send the entire ignition off to Keys Galore in London so that they can ake it apart and cut me a new key from that.
