Done my good deed for the day.
Went out for a quick ride this afternoon, on returning home I saw a bloke in bike gear, carrying a helmet etc, walking along the roadside. I was going to fast to stop by his side, so I took the next turning and did a quick U turn.
Turns out he rides a 600 hornet, but had snapped the chain. So me being oh-so-nice and generous gave him a lift to the train station, only a mile or so down the road.
I do admit when he hopped on the back, I almost dropped the bike, was somewhat heavier than my 5ft girlfriend!
That's it. Made me feel good about myself anyway.

If only the bikers who went past me when mine dropped a valve were so friendly. Took me 2 hours to walk home. |

I do that all the time ,
but probably less recently as I;ve seen fewer broken down bikes at the side of the road. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Ooooh a good deed thread huh? Ok, my turn!
I was driving down the main road of this area and I passed an old woman who had about 6 or 7 shopping bags, they were all full. She was leaning over, panting. I pulled over and asked if she was OK.
She said she was fine but she bought a bit too much shopping to carry. So I left my bike parked on the side of the road and carried her shopping home for her (It was only a few minutes walk).
She was very grateful It put me in a good mood for a day or so anyway :p ____________________ Yamaha YB100 | Yamaha TZR125 | Yamaha XJ600S | Suzuki GSF600

I remember one good deed, I think it was kinda spring this year.....
Was my day off work, so I'd gone in to Inverness. There's this busy road that goes round to some of the big housing areas then onto the city centre. Riding along then see infront of me a trailer lying in the middle of the road at a funny angle, on my side, then a couple of metres past a bike and a confused looking biker. Thinking WTF I pull in, flip up my helmet and go "you 'right there mate?". And he goes "well I was just riding along when I came accross this trailer in the road.....looked at the reg and it's me mates!"
So I helped him pull it off the road onto the verge, then left him to call his mate.
The funny thing was all the cars were just driving round it, no-one bothering to stop
BTW I'm always on the look out for bikes/scooters in need of help, always carry tools when I'm riding and my transit always has the bike ramp in the back |
