Signed.

That is one of the most mental pieces of proposed legislation ever, I didn't even have to read the whole article to make my mind up. But, I did get as far as the question put to the interviewer that he might be an "ignorant pig" wtf? is this a politician we're supposed to respect?

Please also write/email your MP attaching the URL to the Telegraph article.
Your MP needs to know how we all feel about this.
Remind him he will need your support come election time

I thought you might be inrested in my follow up letter to my MP and his reply. I spelt his name wrong and he didn't take offence.

Dear Mr Shaps,
Further to my email of the 19th March 2007 I would like to refer you to the Telegraph article at the following URL which gives a fuller explanation of this stupid Bill
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/main.jhtml?xml=/motoring/2007/03/17/nosplit/mfbike17.xml
Regards

Hi Ron,
As ever the Government is in danger of trying to crack a nut with a sledgehammer. The problem of the mini-motos is real enough, but just as with hand guns this Government is very likely to pass a law which will prevent genuine hobby enthusiasts while doing nothing to solve the underlying problem. You have my full support and I'll encourage others to consider the legislation very carefully indeed.

All best wishes
Grant.

That really is astounding.

I am also 'pig ignorant' about 'parliamentary procedure', but as an amateur if I was proposing legislation I might think for a second about what it might cover and the consequences, just maybe to consider if it will be effective and enforceable.

It's not as if motorcycles in Britain are so obscure that they could be easily overlooked.

Idiot.

There was another thread on this somewhere.

*edit* here

I've since had two replies from my MP, one including a piss-poor defence of the bill off the Stringer bloke himself.

When I get chance, i'll type it up n post it.

Mudskipper Mr. Green

edit: just noticed, the top post links to a petition. Petitions are useless. Get the template off the MAG site & write to your feckin MP.

Goddamn online petitions Mad

Further to my last post I have received a reply from Grant Shapps who really does seem be sympathatic to our cause.
Atached are two jpeg's of letter from him and Stephen ladyman.

I would appear more peop;e are writing to support this bill than those of us who are vehemtly against it.

In theory though as mini motos are illegal if they were supposed to have registration plates couldn't people just take them off. They are already breaking the law and the registration plate just makes it easier for them to get caught.

We've already pointed this out to MP's. Many MP's in fact!

Mine doesn't care.
