Are there any books you have read fictional, biographical, historical or other that you would like to see made into a film. Maybe there's a stories of folklore that would make a cool film. Maybe there's even an old film that with the current technology would really be brought to life and be an epic film.

Talking to friends I usually get some really interesting thoughts on the subject and it usually propels me to do some research into it for my own entertainment.

I've always thought that a film about Twm Sion Cati (the Welsh Robin Hood) would make a cool film.

Also a re-make of the film "They live" would be great to re-make with current technology.

Any ideas of your own?

A proper horror, one that actually scares me... I can't think of a book that has scared me though; (well not in the sense that I mean, anyhoo).

If done really well, good actors, proper script and props etc. then Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett would make an awesome series.

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.

Apparently Tom Hanks has been signed up for it, be interesting to see what they do with it because in terms of scope, the book is pretty fucking huge.

Dark Rivers of the Heart by Dean Koontz or Under the Dome by Stephen King.

Thumbs Up

Screenplay in it's fourth draft for a Ridley Scott adaptation (well according to Wikipedia!)

Wouldn't mind seeing the Greg Mandel series by Peter F. Hamilton made into films, problem is they always seem to make such a hash of them Sad

Under the dome.. man that book was crazy. So much death and pain. Loved the concept. Good call.

Will have to read all the other ones suggested.

Other books are the Odd Thomas series by DK too although, the concept has been copied already... Ummm, can't remember the name of the show, its got that skinny white burd in it who runs a shop and sees dead people...

That and the Moonlight Bay Trilogy, Fear Nothing & Seize the Night, I can't remember the third. Fear Nothing actually kept me up at night, I think it was the demon monkeys, they had just enough intelligence to be evil, just a really creepy book.

I have a good idea (I think it is a good idea anyway) for a Hostel Part 3 (or 4 because I think they might already have number 3 in production).

Not telling you the plot incase someone steal my idea and makes millions off me.

There has been talk of making a film of 'small gods' for years. I'd love to see it actually happen.

The Master and Margarita (Mikhail Bulgakov)

https://www.logosbooksrecords.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/master1.jpg

I understand several versions have been made, I'd love to get my hands on them and have a look.

The book is a cool mixture of strange humour, horror, suspense, magic and fantasy.
