Fitted a brand new set of Gilles adjustable rearsets to the R6 last week, copperslip applied and torqued correctly. One test ride later I decided to adjust the positioning and the bolt heads rounded off on the first turn.

I've never seen such large bolts give up under so little torque. Gilles sell expensive replacements and this is obviously a good business model for them, but I'd say to anyone considering it, buy SES or Harris instead because a product that costs that much and is designed to be adjustable should not have bolts that are inferior to OEM. It's a scam, plain and simple.

Emailed, contacted on site and via Facebook. No response. This is clearly how much they value their customers.

Think twice before you spend your hard earned. To say I'm pissed off is an understatement. The original rearsets are back on the bike for now until I can get the shit bolts out and some decent replacements sourced.

The first review I found for them had this:

Quote:
Allen head fasteners are soft like butter & can be easily stripped even at recommended torque

Sato rearsets had excellent reviews.

I had Gilles rearsets on my R1 and I agree, the bolts are complete trash. I replaced them all with higher quality ones because I knew if I didn't I was gonna round one of them off. Pretty crap for how much they cost, the actual rearsets are strong though.
