Already had the rust bug on this CBF after the last winter, I spent a good weekend taking bits off the bike and going to town on the rust, had my entire rust killing arsenal out, polishing wheel on the Dremel, phosphoric acid, spray paint.. everything... And then on the following Monday this happened when an idiot failed to look at a junction.

All the body work, pegs, levers, exhaust etc were damaged and replaced... Waste of a weekend but bike looked like new afterwards.
As for the oil, I'm currently at 1800 miles and have needed to top up the bike with about 300ml since the 600 mile service, is that good or bad? I also changed the oil a few days ago, old stuff was dirty but detritus free.
Finally, about looking forward to selling the bike. Despite its issues and my desire to ride something bigger and faster, I've become attached to it and am hesitant to let it go. Apart from the poor reliability there's very little I don't like about the CBF125, well sure it's slow and under-equipped but I do have realistic expectations. |
