My stunter was looking and riding pretty fuckin shite!! bent wheel, forks, discs, snapped subframe, you name it Laughing

It was really looking shite, wouldn't ride in a straight line, couldn't do donuts or stoppies because of the bent front end.. etc.

This isn't the best pic, but you can see how shit it looks here!

https://www.sparksfreestyle.co.uk/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/sub1.jpg

Anyways..

I bought another crash damaged f sport, swapped the subframe, the front end, both wheels and various other bits onto the stunt bike.

Then I sprayed up all the plastics and tank, gave the scratched up frame a coat so now its shiney black again. white pinstriping on the wheels, covered the seats in purple camo. (was meant to be blue but they sent purple, but I kinda like it)

Taken the past 2 days off work to get it all sorted in time for a competition this weekend but its finally pretty much done! (just need to drill the fairings for the lower cage mounts and cover the front mudguard in that material and fit up.

https://www.sparksfreestyle.co.uk/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/almostfinished.jpg

What you all think??? I done the paintwork myself, its not amazing, the left fairing looks 100 times better than the right (i masked the wings out better!!) but its the first time I've ever sprayed anything and I rushed most of it to be honest due to a short time scale!!

I am REALLY happy with it, although I don't know how long it'll look this good for Laughing

Loving the logo etc - personalising the bike Thumbs Up

I'm in the process of painting the GPZ at the moment but not 100% on what logo/theme to use.
Did you use just masking tape and patience, or is there an easier way to get clean lines to the logo etc??

The logos are vinyl stickers.

All the wings etc are painted.. I find selotape gives a cleaner line BUT you need to buy some really cheap non-sticky stuff.. I done the first fairing like this perfectly then the second lot I used some different selotape which wrecked the paint when I took it off!! had to re-do the fairing Brick Wall masking tape does work well but I just find the line isnt always as neat.

I used black pinstriping over the lines anyway to tidy it all up. then a few coats of lacquer - job done.

Cheers for the advice. I'd thought about the possibility of damaging the paintwork when taking the tape off, which is one of the reasons I've still got the plain colour on there at the moment.

Still, I've got tomorrow off work, then a bank holiday weekend, so I may get some creative work done Thumbs Up Wink

All you got to do is find somewhere quiet at the weekend, and test your limits, I often go out to my local industrial estates and practice some wheelies, roundabouts for knee down's. even the odd stoppy but I need better brakes/tyre's for that, have done them though.

Smart as. Thumbs Up
I was thinking about picking up another NC29, but a very poorly looked after one which is trashed for a £100 or so. Ive got a full spare set of fairings really, Set of renthals and I could have a stunter. Just have to put bigger sprocket on it.

Is that a snapped rear subframe I see in the first picture?

And a welded subframe I see in the 2nd picture?

Yea, i had thought before that in some of your photos the CBR wasnt looking too good.

Love the colour, however i think a nice stubby can would suit that bike a treat, the current one doesnt really match the bike IMO.

Nice work Thumbs Up
