Over bank holiday weekend I struck a deal with a guy on the ZX7 forum's for and exchange of bikes.

I swapped what was my current track bike, a ZXR750L2 which was mainly stock, my ex-BSB kit engine and a few other 'race' parts in exchange for the bike you see in the pics.

Its a full race ZXR750M1(R), was used by a privateer team in '94 & '95 and again in '99 as a spare bike. It run's full KIT Kawasaki race parts and was dyno'd with 149.7bhp, at the wheel.

I'm going to Brands next week on a track day and I cant feckin wait!! Very Happy

I pressume the the M1 R is far superior to the L2, or you just fancied a change?

The M is the RR version of the L. But this bike being an ex BSB bike has ALL the race kit parts, and is also a rare bike. Even the stock road bike (which I also have - pic in my profile) has uprated parts as standard (FCR carbs, C/R G/box, race suspension, adjustable swingarm etc..), I've also fitted some race kit engine parts to that too.

The L that this replaced was pretty much a stock road bike with track fairing, a few bits removed to lightenen it up, exhaust, brakes rear shock upgraded etc...

Thumbs Up

personally? nothing except put it back together from a pile of bits, no idea whats been done to the engine all that i know of is a k motor running a full micron system, ignition advancer and re-jetted got a dyno print out showing 119 bhp with the bike has the correct number plate on it.

is that good for a k then? thought they were 110 as standard anyway?

119 is good for just those mods, assuming its at the wheel?

I had loads of trick bits a couple of months ago, unfortunatly I included most of them in the swap for my new bike.

I do still have a pair of ex WSB race cams (ex Aaron Slight) that I'm going to fit in place of the KIT ones I currently have.

That does NOT look like a bike that makes a 149.7bhp at the wheel.

Feck. Nice. Thumbs Up

Standard K cams are also the same in the L & M models, the kit ones will give a nice increase in power all across the rev range.

Not sure what I'm doing with the cams just yet.

Bike went really well once I got it running (fouled plugs) and then sorted the incredibly soft rear suspension out. It was all over the place in the first session, bouncing and weaving through the corners! Final two sessions I had it sorted and was putting in some pretty quick laps.

can i call first dibs on them if you decide to sell Wink

my friends zxr750 J2 was like that far too soft and bouncy weavy scareyness, horrible thing to ride that was. no amount of twiddling sorted it. took the shock out and there was absolutly no compression damping left on it Shocked but feckloads of rebound damping Rolling Eyes all sorted with a nice shiney 10r shock, now just the 2" of lost rear ride height to sort on it!
