Day 1 - 360 miles
Brighton - Mancester

So the first day was spent going to Manchester and crashing at Ben's (Resurection) as a nice halfway place. Journey was pretty "M tastic" with no real events apart from out filtering a VFR on the M25 Very Happy .Meet mike at Birmingham and went onto Manchester.

When we got to Ben's after mike sending us the WRONG way around the ring road (M40) and then to Huddersfield we got there. Ben met us and turned up on his new superbike, it is only 125cc and from china but apparently he's still a real biker, so he tells himself Laughing

Went to a Manchester style pub and was proper cheap. We sit there thinking it was a shame "The Guvnor" couldn't make it when ben says "i know someone". Then literary 10mins later Johnny GSXR turns up!! Really nice guy (and so was ben esp for putting us up!!) but got +10 legend points for turning up in

At Bens

Day 2- 175 miles
Manchester - J15 M74

More of the same, not real events except standing on the M6 for about an hour or two hense only 175miles. Was chatting to a guy on a Goldwing going to Blackpool for some turning on of lights and then a ride. Was cool and let me sit on his J reg Goldwing, was well comfy!!
https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/DSC01276.jpg
https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/DSC01274.jpg

We camped someplace just off J15 as getting tired and left manchester about 2pm because i wanted a bit more sleep and with the M6 most of the day was up by the boarder.

Day 3 - 300ish miles
J15 M74 - Fort William

So the distance to the campsite we wanted to get to 20mins outside Fort William wasnt all that far so we tried to avoid the motorway as much as possible and founds some nice roads. The first loch

https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8073.jpg

Got lost in Glasgow and i ran a red light. I was pretty tired and didnt see the second set of lights. Felt like a right knobber as i have never once ran a red light Rolling Eyes Crying or Very sad

After Glawgow we hit the A82, and i have to say every bit of this road is crazy!! Were going though the mountains and overtaking a bit and when not just taking in the scenery!!

https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8097.jpg
https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8118.jpg

We got to the campsite in good time and camped. Just after getting everything off the bike and setting up my tent it started to rain so that was lucky!!

Day 4 - 260 miles
Fort William - Ullapool

We decided that since the campsite we were on was cheap and nice we would stay here for most part as ment we could also take luggage etc off the bikes for a days hooning. We went north and was even better than the day before.

https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8254.jpg
https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8309.jpg

We stopped after a few miles and got some corner snaps. I have to say i was very dissapointed with my leaning as it looks like im bolt upright when i was going around corners even though i was still doing 90. There were lots of bike out as well and all were very friendly and even wave! lol.

https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8201.jpg
https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8202.jpg
https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8143.jpg
https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8146-1.jpg

So after a bit of that we head onto Ullapool and stop for food. It was a chippy and after everyone with the "oooo you havnt tried haggis, ooo you must" i stepped up to the challenge.

https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8238.jpg

Now, you probably think this isnt a major thing and your right it isnt. Tasted ok, nothing special. So we start heading home. After about 50 miles i start thinking "fuck, my stomach really hurts". Think its just the farts and i carry on for another 40miles and mikes pulls over for fuel. I get off and cant walk, all i can think is i need to get to a bog FAST!! I hobble over to one and lay the worst shit in the world. Mikes was in fits when i got out and TBH it was quite funny!!

https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8265.jpg

After that we headed back and had a fairly early one.

Day 5 - 25 miles
Nowhere really

We deciede to go for a crazy walk to see the scenery in another light and was nice not to do any riding as well. We walked along this lane and then decided to try and climb up a really steep marshy hill which we got quite far before it was all just tall plants and we didnt fancy that.

Mike Myspacing it up

https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8301.jpg
https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8360.jpg
https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8374.jpg

On the way down we kept falling over as so steep and slippery and i even tried some mud sliding!
https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/IMG_8388.jpg

We walked back and went into Fort William for food later and just had a few beers and chilled.

Day 6 - 620miles
Fort William - Brighton Shocked

We didnt even start that early in the day and packed up with the idea to stay on a site at the boarder. Then about 100miles in mike says "why not do it all today". I really didn't like the idea as felt quite tired as it was and thought hhhmmm. So we get to the boarder where we said we would discuss it again and i was tired and wet from all the rain. My ear also hurt from a piercing as well.

So, after some pills for the headach, a can of red bull, removing my piercing and a break to warm up i felt MUCH better. The problem that i was having that i explained to mike was all the wind was going in my face due to the little pretection i have was taken up my tank bag. Then mikes says "you have got spare bungees right?" and they we took it off and bungee'd it to the back of the tail pack.

I REALLY made a difference and i could tuck behind the little pretection and being fairly short, works really well!! So there and then i decided we had to give it a go and if i really struggled stop in the lakes. We cruised 90ish all the way and i just had a can of red bull when i was feeling a bit low and all was fine.

At about 10ish we split and mike went toward wales and i headed M40 to M25. After 70miles of last filling up (i get 130ish to a tank) a services pass. I was sure there would be another, but no. 80 miles after that!! In the end i had to really take it easy and go past my junction on M25 to get fuel.

I ask the lady in the petrol station and apparently loads of people do it. She then says "but doubling back on that shouldnt take you long at this time of night" which made me think, hhhmmmm. Then the GF rings and says her and some mates are at "Audio" in brighton on a night out and i think "hhhhmmmm could always drop past". So at this point im really up for finishing the jorney! about 12 now so riding for 11 hours.

Cain it down the M23 and did the 33miles in not a lot time and cuised on by to audio. Chatted for a bit and then went home. Got in about 1 so 12hours with stops. Dont think i ever want to do that many miles in a day again!!

It was originally going to be me, Mike, Andy, Ben, Toby and if Chris wants to come course he can.

Hopefully they are still up for it.

I'm bored of the states until I find some one to hit up all 50 states with.

Europe just seems a good laugh.

Yea but as the way with trips the numbers are never what they start at. For example there were 4 serious people that were going to come and in the end just 2 of us.

Europe is the plan though

You have seen the bikes loaded for ONE person, with a pillion you could only bring a tankbag and panniers (and at most pillion could wear a rucksack)

Therefore, they would be VERY short of vital stuff ie tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat. So in short, wouldn't think its the best idea in the world. Thumbs Up

Awww, have you guys never carried a D of E pack? I could EASILY fit all the stuff we'd need into a bag i have.

Wouldn't restrict the speed too much AFAIK. Been 120 on the back of a Ducati ST2 and it wasn't that, but i did have to hold on Laughing

Likelihood is I'll have a naked 636, not sure how all the luggage is gonna fit on the tail after the trip to Scotland, so your services may be required Laughing

But really, get your own bike Wink I may happen to have this lovely SZR for sale at some point Mr. Green
