Now this is awesome, I hope I one day win the lottery so I can do something similar Laughing

Although it'd have to be a bit more centered... its just off to the left a bit and that'd drive me mad haha

The bit that really made me laugh though, was that his wife said he wasn't having 2 bikes in the house, so he thought that meant it was ok to have the one!!

Beats a fancy mirror, eh? Laughing

Thing is, if you can afford to mount a ducati 916 on your living room wall, you've more than likely got another bike or three in the garage ready to be ridden!

I just can't see the point in that.

Its just a bit sick really, to waste such a beautiful bike. You'd want it to be fully running aswell (ie sticking one up with a blown crank/barrel would irritate me I'd imagine) so you've essentially wasted a beautiful track bike.

Bah, more money then sense (or balls).

complete waste of a motorbike

at least a motorbike kept in a garage and never used could be used, but mounting one on the wall is deliberately not using it, which is different

i know someone who plays saxophone, who had the same feeling after seeing a saxophone mounted on the wall as an ornament

Not really a waste of a bike, thousands of people will now have seen the house which has a real motorbike hanging in the living room, people who don't know what a Ducati 916 is! They have now been educated on what iconic beautiful machine the bike is! Or who knows he might have a son who decides to get it back on the road in 10-20 years, what a bike it would be then!

If you have the money why not? If I had the money I would spend 100K on a car, does that mead I have more money than sense?

Yes.

100k would set you up in another country easily.

If I was a multi millionaire I think I just might have a few houses in other countries, all with bikes on the wall, and a 100k car at each address Wink

The presenter of the show said something similar.
He said it's a motorbike and should be on the road being ridden.

A sentiment I happen to agree with.

The owner/builder was a property developer though with more assets than he knew what to do with. His wife didn't look that impressed with the bike on the wall or even the whole house come to that.

Thumbs Up

My jaw dropped when I saw this. I paused the program and called the Mrs into the room. First thing she said was... "No, you're not!".

Was funny, as the couple on that program were Barry & Julie, which is also my wife's name, and I had that model 916 last year! Laughing

One day I'll do that, one day!!

Thumbs Up

Ostentatious cack. I'd feel embarrassed to have people visit if I had something like that on the wall. Thumbs Down
Beautiful vehicles look much nicer in a proper garage. The American TV presenter, Jay Leno does it properly and with taste.

Sorry, but that's MHO.

Aye, would love both Jay Leno's garage and it's contents.
