Hey there,
I'm getting into biking, got my theory booked and got my practical tests booked. I like three bikes, CBR400, ZXR400 and RVF400. The more new the bike is the better Thumbs Up Just started my search for my first bike Very Happy If a good deal comes up i might just jump at the opportunity, because i can not ride yet the area i'm looking for the bike to be in is in the West Midlands area (by Merry Hill Shopping Centre), Or to be delivered.

So if your selling either of them bikes or a friend is please drop me a line here, cheers Thumbs Up I've got a pretty good price range.

Andy

For £1600 i'd expect it to be mint mint mint, and mint smelling.

£1600 is Gullarm territory. You can get a nice Nc30, Nc29, or Zxr for that money, easily.

Way2Fast, If you wait till Winter time months, inculding early months next year you can get some good deals. Thats what i did.

1 '92 gullarm bought £1350. Very Happy

u can get some cheap deals but the bikes have never seen maintenance, and it will end up costing u in the long run. i dont mean to start a war on hear but ask anyone in the know and they will tell u that the nc23 is a much better bike than the nc29,although it doesnt look as good.

No nor do I.

Im just saying about the price. I dont want to mess up your chances of selling. You could still pick up a well looked after bike, though. I mean not all are miss-treated or neglected, although some can be.

Not sure about the 23 being better than the 29 though. For the road there is hardly anything in them. I certainly would not call it "much" better.

I still recon the 29 is better, it has more modern parts and looks nicer. That settles it for me personally. With regards speed and handling though they are very similar, and a beginner/new rider will never notice or even appreciate any insignificant differences there may be.

Take a biker with you to check over the bike. I went with my Bro and checked it out quite well. Got a decent test ride as well. But if you can find a mechanically minded biker to go along, you are near sure to get a decent machine.

Someone must be around your area that fits the bill.

Oh and HAGGLE, I got 200 off it. Mine had head bearings and rear wheel bearings done about 6 months before i bought it. New oil and seals in the forks. Mine needed new tyres after 2 months. Paper-work and reciepts will show the work/parts have been done.

Mine was a good private deal, and you may not be as luckey. But searching around and picking a good one certainly helps.

Okay cheers, i think i'll take my bro. He aint really that mechanically minded but he's scary as fook so no bad deals Laughing He's not like my real brother, just class him as it because ive know him since i was young and hes my sisters best mates bf. Thumbs Up
Do you think the CBR400 is a good choice for a first bike? To be honest i'm not all top speed and all; just it's nice to know its there.

Praying..prays good deal on a CBR400....Praying

me and my big mouth. ill be finding out which is the best as ive just bought one this evening(nc29). it will be for sale soon as soon as ive checked it over and completed my other project. a nice clean one, with new did chain, fresh oil and filter, shims done, brand new engine cases(not because they were damaged, but just pitted), sticky gpr70sp tyres with stackes of grip left on them. it will be around the 1500-1600 mark, oh and it has had a lady owner.

Yeah pretty good. You have to be careful, becasue it is quite fast @ full power, well when you start off it is. If you buy one resricted it will be fine as well. Remeber yo will have to re-strict it on the A2 licence. But my restrictors fell out. Haha.

Its a bit wierd at first with cornering and stuff becuase you have to lean the bike over, unlike up right bikes. When you get used to it, it handles really well.

It will be fun for ages. Ive had mine for 9 months and still excellent fun.

Just make sure you have them done so you get the paper work.

Hehe mine came with the paperwork, and the resrictors taken out already. Sweet, another £200 saving, there. Very Happy
