For those thinking about having a go at some road (track) racing in the coming year, details for the ACU school day run by bemsee are up:
https://www.bemsee.net

If you want to do road racing in the UK and haven't done before, you have to do something like this.

The day offered by bemsee is very good value compared to the alternatives. Hopefully there will be a bit less snow than last year:

If people need a hand on the day, I could possible help out.

No, it's needed if you want to start racing.

Trackdays only require a road licence. For now.

How long does the acu licences last for ?

If you have to ask, it's probably not for you.

It lasts for a year, but you don't need to do a race school to renew it.

About £30 for the ACU licence and £30 for club membership.
However to keep it active you need to do something along hte lines of race in at least 3 differernt locations.
3 days racing is going to be way more than that.

It is a good day, but I'd only really bother if you're seriously considering doing some racing.

The reason i'm asking was late last year i done my first track day and i'm planning to do a hell of alot this year.
If in time i get to enjoy it too much i might try and go for the licence and do some races.
thanks for the info Thumbs Up

Trackdays are much better value for money on track time.

When you can at least hold your own in the fast group I'd consider looking at racing if you're starting to get bored there.

If I was you, I'd try and get a load of trackdays in this year, then consider racing next year.

Unfortunately everyone tends to speed up torwards the end of the year. Thus, while you might be quick enough to make it worth while towards the end of the year, everyone else will probably have moved on a bit as well.

It's including the written test, just the one day.

Think Swaff's friend mark is doing the one at Snetterton.
