Got me new bike this morning (crm 250). Bastard died after a mile, got it going again, then it died again at the next junction. Motherfucker sucks ass. Kick start only, ok ok so yeah - not like there's any hard compression there - but even so, it's a bit tall and when the tosser won't catch it's a PITA.
So basically it took me three hours to get 20 miles.
Wanker kept stalling on the overrun - especially when changing down into second / first. Was okay at going up the box, although low gears were fluffy as owt. But down shifting, ugh. No. DOES NOT LIKE.
Other bikers fucking suck. There were LOADS out today. Not one bastard stopped. And my karma's good. Very good, even. Since getting my license last June I've u-turned and gone bike to broken down bikes at least 5 times. Each time I offered help of phone, pillion to get the breakdownee back home, etc. etc. So I've got some in the bank. And what happens - twats just ride past me pushing it along the road.
Only ONE person stopped - and it was a fairly fit young woman in a focus who slowed down and asked me if I was okay. Didn't have me vial of chloroform and claw hammer so just smiled and said no it's okay, nearly home now but thanks you rule.
Anyway, passing a guy's place who knows his way round bikes and has stripped a carb of mine before, I saw he was in his yard and knocked on. We kicked it up and I told him the symptoms - after a little while he found there was a strange and very sticky residue weeping out of the airbox.
So eventually limped the bastard home, whipped the panel off and sure enough there's this weird sticky crap around the bottom of the big sponge air filter thing.
No this shouldn't be in the workshop section. I'm just relating the tail of the last few hours. Was tempted to ring the seller and berate his sorry ass but watcher gonna do. I paid me money and blah blah caveat fucking emptor izzit blud.
Bikers're scum. Fuck you bikers. Textile Tony, Wayne one-piece and Beryl on her Bonneville. Sod the lot of yers. ____________________ "Life is a sexually transmitted disease and the mortality rate is one hundred percent."

Kinda agree with what my instructor says, I love bikes but not bikers. Of all the breakdowns/offs I've had not a single bike has ever stopped to offer any single bit of help.
Guess the L plates and the fact I'm not a gal with massive tits aids them in reasons not to stop.
I have stopped personally for other people though, normally to lend a land lifting their bike up/lending a spanner. An the other week it was duct tape and cable ties to a guy that had come off. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

Top Tip.
Don't push your bike, pull it. Get a bit of rope and tie it to the back of the bike then round your waist so it's the correct length to be pulling it along while holding the bars.
It's WAY eaiser. Just be aware that you need to use the front brake to stop (both you and the bike).
Also, not so relevant in this case, but if you run out of fuel, it's often easier to take the tank off and walk there and back than to push the entire bike to a filling station. Reasonable chance of someone giving you a lift too. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. I was late getting to work one morning last week, ran out of petrol in the car park on arrival (tank set to reserve) so had to push the ZZR round to the petrol station, about 1/4 a mile
New-ish pads so brakes rub a little, took 40 mins to push it round, fill it and ride it back. ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

I've been there, since then I always carry extra cash.
It wasn't that bad, I mean once I was riding like all day long in my gear, on a MZ150, so around 40mph, avg. It was like 35°C+ on the direct sun and my mate needed me to push him a bit, so he could start his cbr with crappy battery. He stopped in place where there were no hills at all, just flat land. So, I'm running around with my gear and lid on, sweating down into my boots, the bike wouldn't start, so I did like 5 sprints pushing his bike in the direct sun. Then I though, I'd get some cold air while on the MZ, well, 40mph is not enough even when you unbutton the jacket and keep the visor up.
He got a fresh battery this year, so I think I won't be trying to get a heart attack this time. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

Get some breakdown cover I'd be straight back to the seller as well. Tbh I only stop in special circumstances, such as when a cyclist got hit by a car & everyone left, then I stopped and put her chain back on for her. Even when someone asked me for a JumpStart in the work van I didn't really want to, but thought it would of been rude to say no ____________________ Yamaha MT-03 '08 (crashed)

If I'd have passed you, I'd have stopped. I always do, if its safe. In the car too sometimes. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |
