He must be!
Matt, everyone's gotta start somewhere and it might as well be from the bottom!
A mates dad started out working on his own model airplanes, then worked in his dad's workshop and now works full time on Lamborghini engines in the Victory team powerboat!
You also say you reckon you work on an engine blindfolded, perhaps, but a motoGP bike's a COMPLETLEY different kettle of fish. They're in such a high state of tune it's a different skill all together.
I'm not one for killing dreams, but start small and work up to big mate.
Good luck. ____________________ wizzzard wrote: Imagine God just stopping by, tidying your front room up and then quietly letting himself out again. Statisticly more likely to happen than Korn being on here. |

The majority (if not all) of the guys within MotoGP have been at it for most of their working lives. If not on bikes, then in other top level forms of motorsport.
The guy that has just taken over the role of No 1 mechanic in the GT team I work with has come over from the Kenny Roberts MotoGP team, before that he was with the Arrows F1 team and before that did F3 and F3000 motorsport work.
It's nothing, in any way, like working on a road bike. There's so much more to a race bike at that level.
If you're still interested, getting as much experience at lower levels is the way forward. But, you have to be extremely committed to the cause that you're after. Long nights, little or no pay to start with (you're there for experience, remember!) and hours of shit getting a bike to finish or be competitive.
As I've mentioned to another BCF pit-crew member on more than one occasion, a well prepped race car or bike is far more likely to be competitive and finish than a shitter that's not run properly. ____________________ Colin McRae MBE 1968 - 2007 RIP
