Basically today riding to work i got pissed off with the following thing.

Other Road users not understanding whose clear prihority it is and right of way. Picture the scen, im going up a hill on a narrow road, cars on other side of road, now Mr Abdul fucking taxi twat decides to force his fucking way between me and the cars, and its highly obvious he's not gonna get through, and starts beeping at me!!!! Now excuse me, correct me if im wrong, it is my right of way.
Its not the first time this has happened either, last time, involved me getting a bruised shoulder and a sore throat from screaming at a BMW driving tosser.

And on a lighter note, when i do give way and its their right of way, it would be nice for a acknowlagement, ignorant twats. Middle Finger Thumbs Down

Lol, make you wish you had an Enduro style bike doesn't it! I'd love to see the look on mr taxi drivers face if you popped a wheelie onto his bonnet and rode over his car.

just swear at them and be on your way.

it's probably not the best idea to argue with a car when you are on a bike although plenty of people on here seem to think they would

You know, I'm probably totally wrong but I always thought that people going UP a narrow road should by right give way to those coming down the hill. That seems to be the etiquette driving/riding the lanes where I live. Your stopping distance is far less going up the hill so it makes sense.

You know what, thinking about it, that used to be the case, I dont know when they changed it, but the highway code definitely says giveway to vehicles coming uphill when you can. but yes, definitely 20 years ago im sure it was the other way around

If his side of the road is clear and doesnt have to cross the middle of the road he has right of way regardless of whether its a hill or not.

like the above poster said. there's varying factors on right of way on hills.
legally if it's narrow, naturally or caused by cars parked on a (parkable) side of the road, it's the person coming up the hill who has right of way. if the person who's side of the road is blocked, be it by a car parked parallel to another, or calming measure, then it's whoever has the free side of the road's right of way, uphill or not.

If it's happened more than once you should be considering your positioning on the road.

i dont believe he has passed a bike test to give him his due.

and lane positioning is not drummed into you on a cbt.

That is now irrelevant that he is riding on the road. His safety is the most important thing, regardless of his licence.

funny I ride exactly the same roads as you around the Bolton/Mancs area / cheetham hill area and around stand lane and I never seem to encounter this sort of activity , and I ride a fatter longer rustier bike than you.

Road rage is bad , maybe you ought to allow more time for your journey , since ranting and raging does not help and won't change a thing , except maybe the day you die as somebody might take serious offence and turn you into road pizza , considering people have been killed in RTAs and the one at fault has only gotten a short ban and a fine.

EDIT

I'd add that the fact that many pakistani folks who are taxi drivers are generally very difficult to be banned (its their work and income hence magestrates are generally unwilling to ban them just pump more and more points onto licences) , hence this would just add insult to injury.

You are not alone,

this has to be one of my biggest niggles, at greatest fault are skip lorry drivers and general egits in large cars hogging mine and their side of the road.

It's my side if the road, just because I don't need to cross the white line and you do does not make it your side of the road
grr Evil or Very Mad

I get really annoyed most mornings and have taken to playing chicken with the on coming vehicle.

I've won everytime so far,

I'm going to cry when I loose, I know because it's going ot hurt, but right now bullying the other drivers right into a little space rocks my world Twisted Evil

I was in a similar situation riding home when I was nearly hit by a bloody cop car Police (travelling in the other direction) overtaking on my side of the road. He had just emerged from a blind bend and obviously didn't see me at first but then the rozzers are way too reckless around here (West Yorks).

I could tell you numerous tales about some of their driving i've witnessed....But I won't. Silence

And why do so many car drivers hate filtering??? I do it as politely as I can and I still get attitude. Brick Wall

Well I suppose it's true what they teach us, we bikers really do need to be cautious and ride 'defensively'. Angelic

why would I hate my family for driving tractors.

I don't know any other farmer that goes round the road he's been on and cleanes the mud off, we do.

I accept the fact that country roads arn't race tracks and need to be used by catt;e, farmers, even the odd horse.

But in the city where people ignore the highway code and general rules of the road I'm allowed to get a lil' angry.

Point being everyone uses the road as they see fit. You don't like skip lorries, many don't like farmers in tractors. Such is life. Live with it.
