Hi,
Just wondered how much having a scorpion end can on my ZX6R would make my premium go up?
Cheers

Told every insurer I have been with about any performance exhaust I have had fitted. The general rule is if its a 5% increase of power or below there is no extra to the premium. 99% of cans won't give 5% extra power so its worth telling the insurer as if you come off or some scrote nicks it you will get a new one. I got a quote on a completely non-road legal 1000cc superstock spec race bike with no headlights, no indicators, full race system, highly tuned engine, full Ohlins suspension, full race carbon & iron brakes etc, you get the jist, it had all been changed and it came out cheaper than the same bike in stock (dealership) form. They basically said as long as it had a licence plate, road legal tyres and a horn fitted and I ran it on a Daylight-only MOT (can only use the bike between certain hours and when visibility isn't poor) then they didn't care what mods were on it, they just put it down as a custom bike.

Still, I don't know if they would have replaced the £11K of kit on it if I had been invlved in an accident?
