bearing in mind I've got an FJR, would it be silly to swap my Thunderace for a VTR Firestorm?

I've always liked the VTR Very Happy

am I going to find the VTR to be too similar to the FJR, in that it's classed as a "sports tourer" rather than the SP2?

the Thuderace has modified suspension to make it a bit more sporty than stock.

I think you'll find the VTR to be a lot different to the fjr and I wouldnt class it as a sports tourer more sports.

that's what I'm hoping for..

want to have number 2 bike as a reasonable departure from comfy tourer. The thunderace is great, but I've always had a soft spot for the Firestorm

My dad had a firestorm for a few weeks, he really liked it. Ive talked to a few people who've had them. Theres an instructor for a training school near here whos got a heavily modifed one that he has as his sunday ride out bike. I think you'll really like it. I find there's something really nice about the V twin power delivery, its difficult to describe.

A friend has one for sale. Think you'd miss the power and the suspension is a bit on the soft side

I had an Ace and a mate had a storm. The Ace is a faster, better handling bike by far. The storm is more a tourer, high bars, not particularly quick and is, in my opinion, a bit lacking in the fun department, did nothing for me at all. Bear in mind both these bikes are a bit long in the tooth now anyway.

But each to their own! Have a test ride and see what you think.
