Well more than one question really and they may be a little silly so bear with me.

Firstly, you know those leather jackets you see hanging up in rather naff jacket shops along Oxford Street. No? Well they seem to be replica race jackets and range from the Fila Ducati jacket to the Suzuki Lucky strike one, well I was wondering, whats wrong with them? They retail at about 70 squid I think, which is quite a bit cheaper that real rep leathers, so whats the catch? They even come with budget armour in the right places.

Secondly, related to the above question actually. I like stickers, badges, decals, transfers etc..anything that adds individuality. Why is it that you cant buy a set of leathers with any sponsors on at all, replicas essentially. And how come on pro leathers, all the badges and patches seem to be covered in plastic?

Thirdly, anyone rate Oxtar TCS evo boots, I know thats not the right model name but the white ones basically?

And finally, kevlar draggin jeans? Cool brezzy escape from sticky leathers this summer? or recipe for gravel rash and mucho mucho pain?

Cheers all...

Cheap jackets split when you take a tumble. The seams just burst.

You reckon it will survive one fall though?

Reason I ask is I'm borrowing a textile jacket off a mate at the mo and it reeks of BO and fags.

So desperate to get myself a new jacket but am a bit strapped for cash, 70 squid for one fall doesn't seem so bad....or when you mean the seams burst is it litterally like that bit in Bruce Almighty when his clothes just fall off him?

Better off buying a second hand 'proper' bike jacket than a new (cheap) fashion bike jacket.

Have a look on ebay, many used bargains to be had.

Proper hein gerickle jackets are only £140 new.

I spy a full suit on ebay for £125...

First off i have one of them jackets (the black/silver Nokia one) had a nasty off last year and the only thing to burst was my right lung and i am still useing the jacket now two good things to do are 1 throw away the back protector an buy a good one. 2 buy something better when funds allow(I'm waiting for my 2pc Spidi suit to turn up).
Secondly, boots, go and try some on i liked the stylin of the Oxtars and when i tried them on they only have a half zip so i got a/star super techs instead.

Righto, from the horse's mouth so to speak, sorry to hear about you lung sounds a tad nasty. Just put a bid in for a Suzuki Lucky Strike one, and contrary to popular belief I'm not buying it because its "fashionable", in fact its a pretty barftastic yellow and black but at less than 70 quid you can't really go wrong.

Got a Dainese back protector for snowboarding which is very similar but was thinking of upgrading to one of those jelly plastic type ones that are very low profile, ie dont stick out.

Next bit of cash is going towards boots, I really value my feet.....

Cheers for you help.... Thumbs Up
