Same thing happened to my stepdads Blade. Me and my brother bought him a new carbon fibre tax disk holder for his chrimbo, but theres nothing in it. Its very unlikely it would ever get checked, and all the plods have to do is check a computer to make sure its taxed...he doesnt see the point in PAYING for a replacement, and neither do i to be honest.

I only got my new one on Saturday, i lost my other one a few months ago.
Your details will be on record so the police will know that you have tax if your stopped. Just plead ignorance and say "well it was there this morning."

I do the same except don't do a copy, I just carry the original with me whenever I am on the bike. Been pulled for spot checks a few times and never had any problems, when I point out that someone can easily nick it!

Plus nowadays its all on computer so they now if its taxed by just entering your registration no.

*edit* Lost mine a couple of years ago before I took it off and didn't bother replacing it, just keep your tax recept and if you get pulled act shocked that some pikey has nicked it. Then nip down the P.O> and get a replacement...If your not pulled you will save the renewal fee. Wink

I have been reported to the procurator fiscals office for consideration for prosecution for failure to display a tax disc. (Note, not failure to HAVE a tax disc, they openly admitted thet they already knew I had one).

As if catching me speeding wasn't enough. Evil or Very Mad
