Right,

Basically,

I have a laptop with a USB Creative Audigy 2 NX Soundcard (96Khz/24Bit) and a set of Logitech X530 5.1 Speakers (Only about £90, but pretty good sound nonetheless)

For watching DVD's and stuff, I have a crappy old Toshiba Television with an Xbox 360 hooked up to it with SCART.

Ideally, I want to be able to use my 5.1 system on the crappy telly with the Xbox 360, but have no idea where to start.

What do I need? People tell me different things, like they have seen people at LAN parties using Audigy 2 NX's on Televisions/Consoles.

Cheers,

T

(Should mention that the Xbox 360 has an optical out)

well i'm assuming the logitechs came with the standard 3.5mm jack plugs.

you'll want to get yourself some jack to phono outputs, that will either go directly into your tv ,*BUT you said its crap) so you'd probably need a phono to scart converter

Toby mate are you not in liverpool? Just go to Richer Sounds on 1-5 Berry Street, Liverpool, L1 9DF and buy a full setup for low low £ including secondhand professional equipment.

https://www.richersounds.com/information.php?cda=locationdetails&locationid=30

the whole setup can be got for as little as £100 but £200 will get you one that is better than any pc card crap.

PS you will need a car to get the stuff back home, speaker/amps = very big/heavy Mr. Green
EDIT: I have a setup from them ;
1. Freeview
2. CD/MP3
3. Radio (inc digital)
4. Video/DVD
5. XBOX
6. Aux etc for PC

all on 5:1 sound system i.e. digital sound processor and then amp, great speakers, bass speaker is loud
