Which is better/whats the difference between WPA and WEP?

I have the option of WPA or 128mb WEP and no idea which to choose,

IMO if your own network just add to the allowed MAC addresses. That way only those machines you've setup will get access.

Obviously someone may come up with a reason not to do it this way

WPA is far more secure than WEP, but alot of devices don't support it.

Personally I use WEP, cos its easy to use and quite secure unless someone is determined to get in.

WEP here also although MAC filtering is suitable as well.

If you're using laptops/desktops then almost everything out there supports WPA now. Even most of the newer PDAs do.

Personally I keep the wireless setup on WPA and locked to MACs, the wired side is mainly static. Just google WPA WEP and you'll find a good few hits describing the important differences.

You can also make it 128 bit encryption, more safe if your router supports it
