applying for new v5

can anyone give me a realistic idea of time it takes for the dvla to send out a new v5? ive phoned them up and they say 4-6 weeks, which is a bummer as i cant tax my new bike!
im hoping the just 4-6 weeks to cover themselves, has anyone here had to apply for one? and if so how long did it take?

Ive always recieved mine within 2 weeks, i think it is just to cover themselves to be honest.

im hoping it wont take too long as im itching to take the bike out, the temptation to ride without the tax is killing me, but i'll just have to fight it Crying or Very sad
