Laughing Dear Farting Friend,
I hope you do not work near an open flare or natural gas outlet! That can be a disaster. And nobody likes a fart ass.

Actually we have a huge flare at work, fortunately its out of the way. I haven't set off any gas detectors as yet.

Another problem is I'm banned from "Smokers Corner" until the activity settles down.

The frequency has dropped to cracking one off every 1/2hr, its a vast improvement to every 5-10mins so things are looking up.

If you want a charcoal biscuit, go to a pet food shop and get some loose dog biccies? Bet they'll be cheaper. My sister loves them, she is a chav though. I hear they like strange, exotic foods.

He is in Africa, I suppose, I doubt there are pet food shops or pet food for that matter (not being sarcarstic but being realistic) Smile

Second Progress Report

The storm seems to be abating.
I've quit cereal at breakfast, just having toast and canned grape fruit.
Lunchtime its what ever's going except red meat, beans, or cabbage.

I'm praying for an isle seat on next weeks flight home.

If another storm comes by at home I'll be straight to the quack, hopefully the receptionist will put at the front of the queue.

Try fresh pineapple. They are supposed to contain enzymes that break down protiens. It is quite easy to get in African countries.

Do you mean proteases like pepsin, the body already has these. The are controlled by the secretion by the stomach of acid. So if he gets a feeling of heart burn as well as excess wind then maybe yes. (heart burn due to alkaline conditions)

The problem is more than likely to lye in the problem of undigested and inproperly broken down material due to lack of the required enzymes to do so, like cellulase.

However, some bacteria in the stomach and small intestine (foreign and commensals ie good and bad) can break cellulase down by anaerobic respiration which results in the release of methane gas causing excess wind.

A girl I know who has regular colonic irrigation assures me that it helps to reduce farting.

Personally, I'm not really interested in trying it out to see whether she's telling the truth.

My kite won't fly, the wind has dropped.

It looks like I'm over the worst, I can hide the odd trump in the office by pulling deeper into my chair.
The lads at smokers corner don't cring if I pop in for a chat.

I've stopped cereal at brekky, now its canned grapefruit and a couple of dod's of toast. No beans, beans cabbage, etc at lunch time. And I've been skipping the evening meal for a while.

If it flares up next week when I get home i'll give some of the other good stuff a try.
Thanks everyone.
