First day riding... scary stuff!

Today I did my CBT, my first ever experience on a bike with an engine. Lasted about 4 hours and after that I was off out of the dealership on my new (used) RS125...

It's weird huh... The CBT is one thing; learning to control the bike, gears, clutch, braking, corners, etc... but once you are on the road it's another story. Traffic everywhere, obeying lanes and such.

I did keep stalling when moving from a standstill... not too happy about that And also I came back to my bike after 6 hours this evening, tried to start it and it just wasn't having it... eventually it ticked over when I figured not to touch the throttle at all, is this the proper way to do it?

DONT use throttel when starting a bike as u will only flood the carb wich will make the spark plug wet and spark plugs dont spark when they r wet. only use throttel if its like trying 2 start but it likes needs a bit off throttel but try and start it will the choke on 1st.

You will get the hang of moving off without stalling quickly, just relax and it will come to you . Stay calm on the road and keep your wits about you . And make sure you use your life savers ! They arnt called that for nothing

Life saver = final look over the shoulder to check your blind spots before changing direction / moving off / coming off roundabouts

aint u done your cbt? they tell u how and when 2 use a life saver but i never did on the cbt next time i will

Yeah, I did my CBT.. they told me about checking over my shoulder and such, just didn't refer to it as a life saver is all.

Mirror check, shoulder check and the last glance over your shoulder before turning is known as the lifesaver

Well done, and also don't give a fook about drivers behind you at junctions, roundabouts etc... Basicly don't move off until you feel comfortable doing it

congrats m8 its wierd being on a bike isnt it 4 ur first time but its also the best because its a thrill!!
