Heat - gear (what you all wearing)

Anyone having this dilema, its pushing 80f and i'm wearing full leathers for mile 4 mile commute.

I do have a mesh jacket and breathable textile trousers(hein gericke air vents), but its just that what if factor. Its not too bad on a ride out in the evening in leathers because speed etc makes you cool, but on my commute mostly in 30mph apart from about 1/4 mile at 40mph.

What's everyone else doing?

Last year I just wore my summer gear.

My commute is even shorter than that! About 2 miles in each direction

Wear boots, jeans, paddock jacket (open at neck), lid and very thin leather gloves. Sweat a lot.

This sort of thing.

Different Dainese jeans to this but still leather jeans and this Trax-S jacket with the liner removed. Been good so far and offers a good compromise between leather and fabric. It's got leather in the abrasion/impact areas and cordura/stretchy D-Stone fabic in the other areas. It's also fully armoured and I've fitted the back protector too.

My textile jacket has removable lining, and is very very cool. I'd normally be wearing it with jeans, but i'll be wearing my full leathers 'till i get some decent protective pants, probably draggin' jeans. I'm never going out without my boots either

In this heat I still wear two piece leathers with Long Johns underneath the trousers, this helps to get them on and off and despite wearing these leathers for nearly two years they still rub the back of my legs behind my knees if I don't wear a layer in between. I wear a T-Shirt under the jacket and unzip its lining, I also leave the top of the jacket open a little. The usual boots, gloves and helmet are also worn of course.

20 miles trip each way but never get over 40mph in the few bit were l,m out of the heavy traffic so don,t really need to kit up.

It looks like it's going to get pretty damn hot on the weekend when I finally pick my bike up from the service.

I don't have any of this fancy techno textile stuff so will wear full leather and sweat like a bastard.
My trick will be to get on the road for 9am when it will be cooler. I won't slow down until it gets hot when i'll go home, have a cool shower, ice cold beer start the barbecue and prepare to watch the footy!

I love summer.

I wear Texport full leathers and they are so well ventilated that i stay cool even at 30mph during the summer.

They are so well ventilated that anything below 15 degrees C is too cold to wear them

When the bike comes back I'll be wearing leathers, and boots etc but then I dont commute by bike so shouldnt be stuck melting in heavy traffic

Unfortunately I mis-judged it today, so I wore leathers. They've got perforated panels, but still a bit too hot for today.

There's nothing quite like slowly filtering through heavy traffic with the cooling fan blowing hot air at you!

Got a Triumph vented textile jacket for proper hot days. They're well worth a look, the latest version has a zip-off waterproof jacket that you can stuff into a kinda bum-bag pocket.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move but should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move but does, use the Duct Tape.

still wear my leather jacket, buff, gloves and boots, the jacket has to vents, usualy just upen the jacket if it gets that hot, personaly i dont think its hot enough.
