Suggestions welcome

Hey all, i'm kinda half new here...I posted a while back prior to my CBT last year but since then long forgot my username and passworld lol, so i'm back with a new ID!

anyway, i'm doing my test next week, Thursday and Friday (15th & 16th June). I've been riding for over a year now on my Yamaha SR125 and am looking for suggestions on which bike to get next.

I was planning on getting a higer CC bike and just restricting it until i'm 21 (19 right now). I was hoping for maybe a Yamaha Virago 535 or Dragstar...something like that. Definitely upwards of the 33bhp mark so i can unrestrict it after I reach 21.

I know you guys get a lot fo these posts but any help would be cool!

Dinnae get a dragstar, they are overweight and underpowered.

The virago was always well thought of, they are getting on a bit now but if you can find a good one you should enjoy it.

Never ridden one but I am familiar with the engines in the kawasaki EN500, which should give you few problems if you want a cruiser type bike. Paralell twin rather than a v-twin though.

Thanks for suggestions all. Toby R, i forgot my username too which is also needed for password retrieval i believe but oh well.

Anyway, the VFR is cool but i'da rather a cruiser. I was thinking about a sport bike but then quickly changed my mind again. The En500 looks cool, just gotta hope i can find a decent one for a good price.

Ok i am now considering sports bikes. Been looking at a few Fireblades, ninjas, and some GSXs. Any sports suggestions would be good too thanks.

Oh could anyone answer a question for me as well? What makes a GSXR a Hayabusa? and do they have some sort of fitting over the rear seat? ive seen some around that seem to have an attachment on the back and others that have a seat for pillion, is it just some sort of cover or are some models different?

Suzuki's Hayabusa is a 1300cc beast that was designed to take top spot in the speed category, back when honda's blackbird was king for top speed.

Hayabusa in jap means a predator that kills blackbirds I think, hense the name.

Most modern sports bikes come with both a pillion seat and a solo seat so you can switch between the two. I would imagine the busa to have both as an option.

Jonny_GSXR (sp) (has a bo selecta craig david avatar) on here has a tarty 06 one, he could tell you more I'm sure.

If you go for a jap bike though, get a Suzuki GSXR!
