Check your chains!!

Despite being told by the police my chain is about to fall off i ignored them.

Cue a few days later mid wheelie, the chain snaps.

Luckily there was no damage at all, just came down with a thud and while i was revving the bike it was going no where.

Anyway check your chains.

In the end i pushed it 2.2 miles home as i thought the breakdown would take longer so i am pretty tired now lol.

I broke chains on both hornet ans sv. Even if it's got plenty of adjustment life left in it, if its been standing a long time then its best to get some attention to it (so I found)

Your chain must of been relativley fucked to have snapped like that, to be honest it was stupid to let it get like , I clean my chain with parraffin and lube every week and will adjust it if necessary

. If you just let it get shitty then you will obviously shag the chain and sprockets and could cause yourself a nice little injury, not to mention a significant perfermance lost. You got away with the chain snapping, It could well of caught your leg or fucked the swingarm bigstyle or even locked the rear wheel!

Anyway, Glad to hear you're ok and maybe you'll take a little more care in future

MY bike has almost done 4000 miles and i havnt had to adjust it yet.

On my RS50 i think the chain snapped 2 or 3 times, shitty thing, i wouldn't be fund of pushing a 600 home.

Check it and lube it, i think scottoilers make people neglect their chains, like the wonder scottoiler will fix all problems and the chain will be ever lasting.

I can't believe you wheelied it with a fucked chain? of all the dumb ideas in the world, that's pretty close behind voting for labour!

i've just been sorting out my new nsr for an mot, and have just discovered to my great annoyance that the chain has never been looked at, i swear its not even been oiled. so i now need a new chain and new, forgot the name but its the parts that connect the chain to the wheel and the engine. so its gonna be even longer till i can ride the thing

had a chain fall off twice and one snap, called up the family brake down cover, my old man

the chain snapped at the split link, so asked the old fella to get one and bring it down, couldnt find it, so he went out and bought one

Have you people with chains snapping never heard of maintainence, it stops this kind of thing happening.

Takes me 10 minutes to adjust my chain, I'd rather do that than picking bits of metal out of my skin and waiting days for parts to get my bike back on the road!

I think the chain was mouldy.

My dad hasn't used the bike in absolutely ages, anyway i have just ordered a nice new gold x ring did chain.
