Apparently it's called a rollback!!!!

If they don't shoot you off fast enough you won't get round the track. This looks bloody great!

Sadly the video starts after the ride has fired off but you still see what happens!!!

I've been on the alternative versions to that, where it's just 2 vertical bits of track which stop in mid air. So you get 1 forwards facing drop and one rear facing drop.

For adrenalin rushes, they're one of the best rollercoasters to go on. The only one that's beaten it for me was Kraken in Sea World, Florida, I ended up going on that 9 times. Cool

That sounds like a Vekoma Boomerang! They are now building one at a park right near mine!

Something like this?

That's the general idea, yeah. I've been on about 3 different ones, but they're all the same really. Smile

I used to have an annual pass for Thorpe and we went at least once a month, but we moved in Feb this year so I've not been on Stealth yet. Will have to get back there at some point!

That rollback looks the nuts! According to some of the staff it's been happening most days, normally on the first few runs of the ride!

I want to find out where that motorbike rollercoaster is and get on that as well!

Rollbacks are quite cool to watch actually, i have seen a few, usually happens if they get an unusually heavy train or in bad weather.

There is a video of TopThrill Dragster (which is two and a half time bigger) of it getting stick at the top (which stealth coult do) for 15 minutes.

I would love to see that happen at thorpe! Earlier on in the season the queue on for stealth was more than 4 hours, fuck that for a laugh!

went on it last fri , just as i sat down we had to get off again because of technical problems but after about 15mins we got back on and it was well worth the wait ! its over in about 2 mins tops but you go from 0-80mph in 2.3secs it sends you up 258ft twists you so you go over the top of the track then back down , as i said great ride

I've never been one for rollercoasters and such, but I went on the detonator a couple of years ago.

I think most of the south of england heard me scream "fuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!" as we were dropped.

It broke me.

Now I'm a total girl (no offense to girls meant) when it comes that that shit.

"Teacup ride... hmm, is it safe?"

I love the Kraken! I don't know what it is about that ride, we did most of the 'coasters in Florida when we were there last year, and that is definatly one of the best.

If you like the whole lifting up and then dropping type rides, you really, really need to try the Terror Towers ride at MGM, it rules! Not only does it do the drop and pick up and agin it does it in the dark and occasionally opens the 'lift doors' to show you where you are. Whats wierd is that when you think you are at the bottem you are generally high up Confused Thumbs Up

Kraken in full flow

You should try the Duelling Dragons too Wink

I went on this last year with a friend, being someone who has never been afraid of rollercoasters and the like and love the adrenaline rush, this one scared the shit out of me! Shocked I wasnt quite the same for the rest of the day and can honestly say I would never go on that again!

i went on it few yrs ago when i was 12/13, it shit me up going up to the top and then we were sat there for an age so i was just talking to a mate iwas with and it just dropped, the pic of me was hilarious. by the time i'd finished shouting shit we were at the bottom.

Did you sit down on it or go all out and go on the stand up side where it tilts you out forwards?
