You cant run and then carry on eating shit Confused At least try to snack on other things like fruit, instead of crap.

You could try 1-2days a week of eating less, or less fatty unhealthy food. Doing a few sit ups and press ups every night can help your fitness, and tone your stomach muscles too.

I normally go 2 times a week to the gym, but i too have a less than healthy diet, in that although i eat 50% of the time healthy stuff, it's cancelled out by the other stuff really. I also eat once a day sometimes, and 3-4times a day other days. Some days i can't be bothered and don't eat at all, so my weight tends to keep fluctuating a bit.

I know a guy at work who isnt going to the gym at the moment, but has lost a stone in 2weeks, by eating 8-times a day on a work day. He says it works if you eat several small meals a day, as this can speed up your metabolism, and combined with moderate exercise, you can lose weight quite quickly.

cut the crap out (fat) cut back on the alcohol but be fair to yourself and allow yourself a little.
to begin with exercise 4-5 times a week, maybe not all running, try to throw in some swimming and maybe some time on rowing machines. try and do low intensity work but for lon periods
just cut must of the crap out

Go and work on a farm for a fortnight.

Last time I worked as a lambing shepherd I was eating: A fried breakfast, midmorning snack, Lunch (hot, 2-course meal), afternoon snack, dinner (hot, 2-course meal) then went home and had dinner there too.

Lost two stone in a fortnight, got paid £900 cash in hand for my efforts.

That sounds a great deal Stinkwheel, was hoping the final line involved a farmers daughter but i guess you cant have everything - I too want to lose 2 stones by end of august, last time I did it i just modified my diet, but this is going to be harder, so its situps, pressups and walking

That sounds ace, wonder if there's any farmers near me that need a farm hand, I'd look dashing in a flat cap and wellies.

But yeah Mark you should eat right and do a little exercise and over time the weight will go. I myself am getting a bit of a belly so I too am going to start getting active, probably by playing 5 a side down the local astroturf place.

BUT , once you get to your desired weight , you have to stick at that desired weight for 18 -> 24 months for your body to get used to it otherwise it will go straight back on.

In one of my previous jobs loading vans all day in harsh heat I lost a stone in 10 days , went straight back on rather quickly.

I've lost 3 stone in the last 8 weeks, on a 500 calorie a day diet. I've still got another 3 stone to lose, but I'm averaging 5 pound a week and am still on track to hit the 12 stone target before I hit the big 4-0 in August Smile

So what do you eat each day then and how often? still 3meals or split it up into more?

www.lighterlife.com

It's 2 soups, 1 shake and 1 bar, and 4 litres of water a day. Plus coffee or tea, but no milk or sugar. I usually have the bar at around 10am, one of the soups at about 1pm, the second soup at 7pm and the shake (made into a mousse) about 9pm. I'd kill for a kebab, but every time I think of cracking, I ask myself "What do I want more - the kebab or to lose weight?". You have to have the right mindset to lose weight.

Unless, of course, people are holding you down and force feeding you Smile

It seems as you get to your late 20s the belly starts to develop.
I have always relied on press ups and sit ups to keep me in decent shape but I have to watch what I eat now or i put on weight quite quickly. Beer is the worst thing for getting a gut. i have seen mates who have gone from having 6 packs to a pot belly in the space of a year.
Keep it easy and minimise the fat content of what you eat. Generally eat less and do 50 press ups and sit ups a night. It seems to keep everything in the right place.

Be careful. 500 cals a day is not recommended by nutritionists for more than a couple of weeks, especially on these meal replacement diets.

Your body will go into "starvation mode" and your metabolism will slow right down, your weight loss may plateau as your body stores every available calorie in case it needs them and you may find that as soon as you start to eat "normally" again the weight piles back on quicker than ever.

You may also end up with some nasty patches of baggy skin!

I am an expert on pretty much every type of diet, having tried them all over the years and then failed due to my addiction to unhealthy food and comfort eating, and my laziness when it comes to excercising. Sad I know how to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle, I just can't seem to do it........ Embarassed

Looking at the possibility of a gastric band now and discussing the pros and cons with my GP..... Embarassed

Sit ups, do 100 either when you get up first thing in the morning or last thing at night. I vow by it, keeps your belly trim. Once you get the hang of it do 100 first thing and 100 last thing at night.

If you are no good, just set smaller targets to start off with.
Trust me, it will work!!

Blimey Shaggy, 500 cals a day seems like drastic action! All the same, good on you for putting 100% into it! The true trick will come when you've lost it, you'll have to keep motivated enough to keep it off!

babyyam wrote:

And there was me thinking Shaggy's measures were drastic! Shocked What ever happens, just make sure you're doing it for you and no one else.

Mark, didn't you put this weight on when using the weight gainer stuff?

If you did (i.e. did a 'bulking phase') you'll have to start on loads of CV (the 'cutting phase') to get down to the muscle. It's the only way! Twisted Evil
