I've heard about your crash a few times, but that looks pretty nasty. Can't tell from the photo, but it just looks like all the tarty fairings got ripped off.

Lucky you didn't end up in those railings Thumbs Up

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=51986 Thumbs Up

Can't say the pictures are anything more than should be expected, considering the severity of the crash. Did anything ever come of the drink driving prosecution?

Unfortunately, it is blood.

The oil is confined to the bike area.

The red and black thing by the fence is my glove. I did end up against the railings, but as theyre near enough solid, i dont think i hit them too hard.

Behind the bike you can just make out 3 yellow dots on the road. Thats where i first dropeed the bike so i had travelled quite a fair way. Confused

Injuries wise: Wrist is fine(ish). Im back at work and feeling fine. The ''claim'' is still being looked into as we speak. I went to Harley Street to have a medical report done. The other guy wasn't insured, 73 yrs old, blew 2 reading over the legal limit, but the 1st was 1 point below prosecution.

So, i'll have to wait and see... Cool

lock him up! No insurance and drink driving is the same no matter what the offender's age. If that was your average teenager such as myself, i'd be banged up in jail and banned from driving.

if he blew one pass and one fail it will go down as a pass. The lowest reading is the one that gets used. Maybe if he had been got onto the breathaliser at the police station a bit quicker it may have been a different story.

I hope your ok with no lasting damage.

Well his readings were going up so maybe a bit longer would've done it.

The only long term injury is that i have no spleen anymore. All that means is i have to take 4 penicillin tablets each day. Can't moan really. Cool

I am all for people getting done when they hurt a biker but I am sorry you can not send a 73 year old man to jail. Sh*t he may have like 4 years left to live so lets stick him in jail. Would you like to see your grandparents/parents go to jail? Unless he has previous convictions for drink driving etc then he should.

I meen no offence by this onli Wink

And thats bad man you were lucky as hell to make it out how you did!

Apart from that how much you reckon you will get Wink

Yeah, cause he should be old enough to know better.
Mby a lesser sentence, but send him down for a few weeks.

Its just not excusable.

I'm all for letting children off the hook because they "don't know any better" (although I think a bloody good hiding should be in order) and for letting the clinically insane get treatment rather than gaol, however why should someone get leniancy because they are older than average? If this was out of character, fair enough, it doesn't warrant sending down - but that goes for a 20 year old just as much as a 70 year old! Just as I know that I have to wear a seatbelt these days and if I speed I may get prosecuted for it, he should realise that you can't get sozzled and drive home slowly like you could 40 years ago.

Right!

Dragging this post up again, but as you guys have been here from day one i'll let u know whats going on.

At the moment, we're just getting things underway for the court case. We're looking in the £25k compensation area, but as i was speeding, it reduces the claim by 20%. But, we'll have to see what happens when the case comes to court.

Hope you guys are ok and riding safely. Cool

I was beginning to wonder what had happened with this!

25 K less 20% is still a decent some of money...plenty enough for a K6 or 7 and some new gear...wouldn't you agree? Wink
