its not good business because such loans are usually written off and the tax payers have to fill the void , and that most of those profits go into the swiss bank accounts of politicians , you really think Blair does his job happily for 188K pa? ,

So?

You obviously missed my point. If what the money is spent is so bad, then surely its better that I am able to get it back (by investing in premium bonds) than not (by being taxed more to make up the shortfall).

taxes an increasing them has consequences , and pisses people off so thet are more likely to change their votes , secretly creaming money off doesn't

Just checked my calculations, I'm a bit out:

24,000 to 1 odds of winning. So with 1,000 bonds, you should win one in 24 draws. My mistake, it's getting late and I'm guilty of excessive rounding.

I had worked out that I should win once every 2.4 draws and rounded it to 2 in my head Embarassed

Remember, you might not win anything at all.

so with 30,000 of them you have almost a guarenteed chance or win? , or am I missing something here (considering me sister had about 12000 or so of them and won nothing before she sacked them in after 8 months to put a depo on a house).

Yeah, with 30,000 you should win something (usually £50) pretty much every draw.

I've come up four times in the last six months.
