getting my new Hornet delivered tonight.

I am buying my friend's Honda Hornet, there was a couple of trivial hitches where life got it in the way , and I didn't get it when I should have done 3 weeks ago. Paid a 10% deposit a month agao. Anyway, it's passed the MOT yesterday, and he's delivering it later tonight.

I'm on the edge of my seat I can't wait.

I've not ridden a big bike for about 8 years, and not ridden a bike at all, for about six weeks, the suspense is killing me. Can't even drink some cold beers today, cos I want to ride the bike tonight, even if it is just round the block. I've got it insured for £60 fully comp, my 125 was insured until the end of July, so they changed it over for just £60, but won't include all of the extras, and mods that I told them it had.. But it's not taxed, so I can't really ride it until Monday, cos I need to tax it at the P.O

tax it online so when the police check you are taxed and you are just waiting for your disc then you can ride all night

Good work mate, Hornet's are awesome bikes.

You can really pimp them out its ridculous! Someone told me that there is a micron system for it that sounds fantastic on it.

However...... It came tonight, and my new Hornet is parked up outside.



Can't ride it tonight, cos I'd been down the pub when I heard it was being delivered. Can't wait till the morning.,

pics of it outside my front door, did post some a while back, but
those were at my friends house when it was still his.

Rode it for the first time today. Felt very odd for the first few minutes. I find the turning circle on it is quite wide, also the position of the foot controls took some getting used to.

Gave it a quick blast down the Clapham by-pass, and it is great fun to ride. The acceleration is amazing after a CG-125 and a CB200

Awesome Enjoy it mate, looks mint too, and the exhaust is a good'un!

My mate has a Yellow Hornet and i love to ride it, some people claim the handling isnt 100% but to be honest, my ability isnt such that i would notice that, to me it feels planted and stable, and after my ZX6R its VERY comfortable.

Cool Hornet you got there thx1138, a great choice of bike They look the business with twin-lights on. Get a full belly pan like mine and it'll look (even more) ace I wish mine was blue or red, and not yellow

Anyway's. I've ordered a black rear hugger, and chrome chain guard.

Then I plan to fit a belly pan, and a fender extender, and then.......

I'm all out of ideas, anyone got any ideas on what else to do with it, that won't brake the bank:?:

p.s yes, I know the tax disc looks stoopid in that place.

I have just got a Hornet 6. Just waiting to sort me insurance etc. Its an 04 reg 54plate in pearly white. Will be adding some Renthals a new exhaust soon. Will also be downgearing it so it accelerates faster. Not before the restriction mod and cert have been sorted and de-sorted of course!

Belly pans look kinda gay IMO, as do the mirrors, so gonna look at some bar end mirrors!

Well apart from downgearing the cog, and chaning some small things like brake lines and mirrors , I guess it's really a matter of looking at resprays / custom pain job next.

Nice looking Hornet bro.I had one a few years ago in silver, but I got rid as I thought the handling was a little vague,each to their own though.Have fun with it mate.

Nothing wrong with the blue hornet mate, its what I got, the faired version anyway. I have the micron fitted on mine and it sounds lovely IMO.
Insurance pretty good too even for me, fully comp, 35 yrs old and fairly new rider - £297 a year
