Best to ring them up and see how much of a back log they have 0870 521 0410. I got mine through in about 10 days but that was in the winter.

You can pay a little extra and get an urgent application through https://www.passport.gov.uk/general_urgent.asp

You should get it back in time, we have just got our daughters first passport in a few weeks. We used the post Office check and send service so you know all the paperwork is correct, costs a little extra but worth it. All the prices are on the passport website.

If you do the "check and send" service, where a chap in the Post Office checks your form before you send it off, you'll have it back within 2 weeks.

I did this before my last holiday, and they actually returned my passport within 5 days.

You wont have a problem. Thumbs Up

Funny you should ask as I go on holiday on the 10th of July and when I looked at my passport this morning it had run out in Oct 05.

I went to the post office with 2 photos and my old passport, filled in a form, then paid the £7 to have it checked and sent.
I was told it would take up to (but not more than) 2 weeks. As opposed to the 2-4 weeks you wait if you don't pay the £7 'check & send' fee.

Also, It's worth a look at the passport website as there are very strick rules on the photos now.
The last thing you want is to get to the week before your holiday and find a letter saying please try again, these photos are no good.

Good luck

When we went to Florida last year it was all quite last minute..

we too used the PO check and send
our passports were back within 2 weeks

I wouldn't worry
a month should be fine

As has been said... make sure the photo is fine- blank background, no grinny faces, head at proper height
FILL THE boxes on the form in well !!
Start in the first box (you would not believe how many people don't!!)
Clear capitals
Read it through...then read it again

You should be good

xx

I got my passport on the same day when I went to the passport office in Liverpool. I think that the building its located in is called India house and is close to The Liver buildings.

Thats right,

You need to get on a train from Manc to Hunts Cross, then go from Hunts Cross to Moorfields on the Southport bound train, come out of moorfields and turn right, carry on straight ahead all the way, down the hill. This is "Water street" and the india buildings are located on the left hand side of the road through a left turn by "Drury Lane".

I would get it done now anyway, as you may not want to wait for the ID card/biometric stuff to come in.

And more importantly, if you start saving you may see a last minute bargin you can afford THIS year even its just a short european break. Try places like Bargainholidays.com

Regards
Charlotte
