Jst been told, verbally, that since they don't have any budget left for permenant employees this year they can't take me on as staff Sad

so instead, they will extend my contract until next year when they CAN fit me in the budget, even tho my contract rate means I'm earning about 75% more than I woud as an employee...

Database Administrator for MySQL and SQL Servers (and a bit of oracle, DB2 and PostgreSQL when needed)

Well saying that, I've given up the DBA role completely now! I got bored with it, the place only had a few small databases so I never had anything to do.

you might well say "eewww" but with mySQL 5.1 brining out disk based clustering, cluster replication, multi-master replication with conflict resolution, stored procedure and triggers, it's a good place to be from my pov, as I think MySQL will start to be used more and more Very Happy
