Hi was looking over the bike today and noticed alot of oil over the right side fork, I cleaned it up and rocked it up and down a few times and more oil came out. Plus a hissing noise when i decompress them, So its defernatly shot.

I was wondering if any body had any idea what fork oil i need for a zxr 400 h1. And if anbody has ever worked on upside down forks before. Are they the same as normal fokrs! Thumbs Up

Mate, same thing happend the other day on my ZXR250 except it's the LHS (when ur on the bike) seal went. It left a puddle of fork oil on it. I think if you go onto www.wemoto.com or busters, they do a fork seal + oil kit for the appropriate bike, but i think it's silkolene fork oil that's used mainly.

USD forks are slightly more complicated to work on than RWU forks, hence why i left it to the garage guys to do the job - 80 quid for 2 seals is better than a whole weekened which i don't have because i need to revise for exams.

Either way, you'd need to disassemble the stanchions and follow the user manual. I just googled ways on how to replace fork seals and decided it's not worth the hassle as i don't have the proper tools.

Take it to a garage, pay about 70-80 quid and he'll get it sorted. Don't ride on it for too long otherwise you'd sieze the front end. Mine kept making a ticking noise whenever i went over bumps to take it to the garage.

bloody Kawasakis.
the best option is to losen the yoke, put the forks in the bin, burn the bike and get something that isnt a kawasaki Smile.

and it was still more reliable then your Krapsaki.

Cole, try cradley kawasaki, they supply genuine seals for something like £12.

Just having mine done, and oil was changed for SAE10 instead of SAE5

Heres an online manual for the suspension...

Havent had it back yet so cant report the difference, but I had it explained and all I can make out is that it improves the damping, as the old oil was too light for the spring rate... or something. Should be more composed etc Mr. Green
