Well. My bike was parked in front of the building at work, and someone has taken my number plate. By the look of it its been unscrewed too, not just snapped off.

Who should I tell, if anyone?

Plod.

So you've got a crime number for when the speeding tickets come through.

Its getting to be quite a common crime. report it asap before (a) the tickets arrive, or (b) you get charged with driving away without paying for petrol.

yep, car/bike plates are commodities in places like london where parking fines, speed cameras and the congestion charge are easily obtained! Someone elses number paltes is actually worth a lot of money as it gives them a free rign of the roads at your exspence..

Wonder whether they're smart enough to put it on a similar bike... probably not.

I read somewhere about car number plates that shatter when they're removed. Has anyone seen anything similar for motorcycle plates?
