Blimeh, got back a couple of hours ago very tired after 5days of hard rocking Cool

Guessing people have been watching the news! i was absoloutely smack bang in the middle of "gold camp" where people were pleading with others not to go in there Laughing (that and another being the worst)

Anyone thinking of going next year then dont get your hopes up, because there were three countys work of riot squads (+50 this info from a stuard) they will loose the licence automaticly..

Other than that an ace time was had, even in the worst of it happy campers were bimblewing allong and we were giveing out free beer (had too much and were no way carrying it home) to passerbys who came through our little camp and sat talking to them all night..
+ the bands i went to see were feckin ace Thumbs Up

If the festival happens again it wont be there...
(pics to follow!)

I've never been too bothered about Download: too pricey, too many people and too many commercial/shit bands. Glad you liked it though Thumbs Up

I blame the riots on the emo's Laughing

I was there yesterday, had a good time.

Guns N Roses dissapointed me a bit as last time I saw them they were good. This time they had too many tantrums about stuff etc.

I was chatting to 2 american guys on the way out who were dressed a bid stupid and it turned out that they were from a band called "eighteen visions" or something, they were a little miffed when I had to ask who they were.

I got hold of VIP passes so parking was easy and the security were a bit nicer too you as soon as they saw the gold wrist band.

Yeah, axl foley's voice kept going weired.

He was having difficulty getting the croud going and after getting things thrown at them the bass'ist threatend to go home.

Oh and 2 of the roadies were starting a fight with each other at one point over technical difficulties. Laughing

They did belt out november rain pretty well and a few others but couldnt maintain the energy.

The highlight of my day was getting out of the VIP parking on the bike and just driving at people and revving my engine and watching them shit it and move.

Thumbs Up

The whole festival was amazing. 'Tallica rocked so hard.
Axel did have trouble getting going but it was good when he did and he even managed to take the piss out of himself!
Did anyone catch the shenanigans during The Prodigy's set?

There were people clambering up the poles supporting the snickers tent. The security guards told The Prodigy that if they didnt get down that they would get shut down. There was 12 people on one strut. It was scary watching them climb especially how high they were.
And the heat from that set was intense it was like a sauna in there!
The whole weekend rocked!

I saw Guns N Roses at Donnington Monsters of Rock in 1988. They were pretty good that year.https://www.rockimring.it/php/guestbook/smilies/rocker.gif

Isnt Guns anymore tho its just Axel and "his band" a load of nobodies who although can rock had none of the presence of Slash.
Izzy Stradlin played with them tho which put a smile on my face < he got a better reaction that Axel did Razz

Wasn't there myself (busy watching lordi) but they were clibing up and the tent was looking like it was gonna fall down+ two guys were climbing the ouside and slideing down it!

If there is a next year i'm not decided i'd go or not, it was a laugh but it was completely out of hand and there were some propper dickholes out there much more went off than got reported or most people who were there hered about (they get 700 shades of shit kicked out of them by me but there were 17yearold kids girls even haveing stuff thrown at them and getting kicked cause they have emo haircuts, spineless fucks picking on them need killing)

It was horrificly organised, 17,000 more people with worse facilitys than the last year and feck all security (you'd have no problem waltzing into the camp sites without a ticket) its just a corperation cuting corners and not giveing a shit of the effects ..all about profits at any cost now it seems Thumbs Down

Had a great time no thanks to them but it should have been a hell of allot better..

I really wanted to go but to be honest i'm not that bothered I didn't now! Metallica always kick ass, they would have been good to see but as someone already said, it's just too over priced! How were Tool?

Tool were great Thumbs Up (one of the bands i wanted to see) they allways seem to have something more laid back on the friday Cool

Talica played all of master of putppets and were really good Thumbs Up the crowd was unbelieveable too

Can't be doing with bands that just turn up, play and bugger off without saying a word to the crowd Thumbs Down

As far as it being expensive, if you want to go and see gig before you've done you've spent £40 in most cases, and thats not even big bands really.. (unless there not too far away) but then there were quite a few i wanted to go see and i found allot more cool bands i'd not hered of Thumbs Up
