i have a d600 but cant find a hands free that will let me make calls when riding so ill likely have to change phones!

the ones i have seen have a button outside the helmet for answering and ending calls but will need 1 that can be pressed for voice dialling. like press button and say home and it dials.

On my Motorola RAZR V3i you press the button on the headset (the one that answers calls) and then you can give it voice commands. Haven't tried it on the bike, but works fine in the car.

When I'm on my bike, my time is mine.

I stick it in the transparent top of my tank bag to monitor the calls. If someone calls several times then I might consider pulling over and taking the call. Otherwise, they can leave a message.

I have mine hooked up to the TomTom Rider but its a bit useless as I can hear them fine but they can't hear me. The bike and wind noise is too loud to be able to hold a conversion. At least text messages can be read through the rider.

Maplin's do a Scala motorcycle bluetooth headset for around 80 quid. Not tried it but it looks good enough.

There is no way on earth I would even consider taking or making a call while on my bike.

Thumbs Up

Just do what i did. Drill a few small holes into your lid. Then get some gaffer tape and tape the mobile to the side making sure the speaker and mic line up with the holes in the lid. If you tape the phone in the center you will be able to pull the phone a bit so you can press the answer button when it rings.

I've had a few problems in the rain but think a bit of cling film could get around this.

HTH.

Why would you want to use your mobile whilst riding? surely it detracts from the very reason your riding, which is to escape reality for as long as possible Exclamation

I just put my phone in an easy to reach position, then I pull over, open my visor, and put it on loud speaker, sorted.

My thoughts exactly.

Mine comes along with me, but I'd never even think about stopping to answer it, not that I'd even hear it ringing anyway, or see it. It sits well out of the way from sight and sound.

That depends entirely on whether you ride for fun, as a job or as a means of transport, doesn't it.

I'm currently working on a bluetooth setup to go inside the lid, tie in both the phone and my PDA for calls/music and satnav directions. Yes, there are times when it nice just to have the sound of the motor and wind noise, but then again there are often times when some form of communication or entertainment is useful. There have certainly been a few times that music has helped me stay awake and more focussed than a droning engine and white lines in a headlight would have enabled me to be.

I'm trying to get an Autocom system set up so i can talk to my pillion when i take them, listen to music and also talk on my phone/listen to satnav off phone.

Seems like the most comfortable way of doing it.

too dangerous in my opinion.

I'm always on constant look out and having an argument or discusion whilst riding, doesn't sound safe to me.

I have done it in the car as I have hands free, but you aren't as focused.

Sorry to the borring git.
