...not for me obviously
The missus was having a bit of a moan the other day as it's another one of those things in life, like motorcycle helmets, that you can't really get to know how good/bad it is until you've spent money. Then you can't return it as it's been worn (ok, I've heard rumours some people do have helmets back but dealers like that they must be like hens teeth).
So anyhow, best go with a recommendation.
So, any women on the forum that can help?
Are the shock absorber ones worth the money?
Would she be ok with the M&S offerings?
Any other make worth trying?
Thanks in anticipation.

The bra/s she needs depend on (a) her size and (b) the level of activity. Quite clearly a big busted woman doing high impact sports needs more support than a small busted one doing yoga.
Shock Absorber is probably the best there is, but Triumph (perfect for a biker...) also make a very good one, called Tri Action. They're about £25-30, and depending on the sport and the frequency, will need replacing every 2-3 months.
She needs to be professionally fitted, as allegedly 70% of women wear the wrong size. They get a bra fitted at one stage, and never change the size. Also, sizes vary depending on brands and styles. Best time to get this done is during the daytime, so she avoids the Thursday evening and weekend sales assistants who haven't got a clue. I've never been to York, but in London I get fitted at Selfridges who have a legendary lingerie department. There's probably something like Selfridges in York, no?
When she tries the bra on, she should try to replicate the sport she needs it for, to make sure the breasts don't bounce and the bra doesn't restrict her movements. |

go for triumph every time.
M&S are good for giving proper sizing and fitting bra's properly. Its well worth paying a bit extra for something that is comfy and does the job!
Sports bra's may not always be pretty but they will give her a good shape and look after her assets! ____________________ Always believe that your guardian angel flies a bit faster than you............... |

Few years ago* when I was skiing and just couldn't get any hire boots that were comfortable (before I bought my own) the guy in the shop suggested maxi pads. They did help.
* After thinking about it, what I remembered as a few years ago was actually 12 years. Damn! ____________________ Current bike: Kawasaki Z750S |
