Heya.

Ive noticed that im not really ragging my bike round as much as I used to, when I first got the rs125 i was redlining everywhere, and would often hit 90+mph in 30 areas...

Now I just cant be botherd, what the fucks wrong with me? do u guys get that?

Its annoying, couse I rode like a prick in shitty weather with no grip, now its really hot and I could probably double my cournering speeds, yet I barely see 5mph over the speed limit...

Did u guys notice this when u first started riding? ( this is my 2nd year of riding and im 17 )

Maybe thats why they dont let youngsters on full power superbikes? Very Happy

I'd say 90+ in a 30 limit is pretty (edit: VERY) stupid. Stick to speeding on the open road where you shouldn't hurt anyone.

"90+mph in 30 areas..."
Nothing to be proud of, they have speed limits for a reason. Im not staying stick to the speed limits but doing that sort of speed in a 30 zone is just asking for an accident. Rolling Eyes
At least you’ve matured now

Maybe, I often wonder what's the rush? Nice to hack about if I'm in the mood, but I don't have to all the time to enjoy biking.

I have to agree, 90mph in a 30 is just plain daft.

There are plenty of roads to enjoy riding fast without putting anyone else in danger.

30 and 40 limits should be observed.

You sound disappointed in yourself for calming down, I'd say give yourself a pat on the back and welcome to maturity!

I have no problems with doing 120+ on a deserted motorway.

But 90 in a 30. No way, thats what you go down for. 30s are they're for a reason, people crossing, children potentialy running out.

Just a month a go I arrived at the end of my street to see a friend of my sons (he's 8) had been knocked over. His head was all cut and he was out on the road surrounded by people. (This is before the police and ambulance arrived). At the time I didn't know who it was, I quickly dismounted, I thought it could have been my eldest.

Luckily the driver (wasn't her fault, he'd been playing chicken !!) had been driving under the 30 speed limit. He was let out of hospital the following morning.

Yeah of course, never said every one should stick dead to the speed limit, but when i do speed its never normally any more than 5 over the limit. Just though that 60 over the limit in a 30 zone is just slightly excessive

I've got to agree 90 in a 30 is asking for trouble.

It just sounds like your calming down a bit, which from what you've said is not a bad thing.

Its lucky for your sake that you have calmed down as you will either end up killing yourself or someone else as it sounds like you rode like a twat.

Don't get me wrong I do break the speed limits (everyone does) but never 90 in a 30 Surprised

So yes hopefully you have matured, which is a good thing Thumbs Up

Huge speeds in 30 limits freak me out, theres too many parked cars, delivery vehicles, kids, stuffed animals etc.

Mountain roads are where its at Mr. Green Thumbs Up

I used to rush around everywhere on my bike (not quite 90 in a 30 though Confused ) until I took a friend pillion. I slowed right down and was actually able to take in the views and I enjoyed it just as much as going fast.

Knowing that my mate was enjoying it and able to chat to me and stop for fag breaks with someone to talk to was great. Point being slow can be just as good.

The whole debate is relative. There is an MOD area loal, with a 2 mile long open road that the MOD have put up as a 30mph limit. could happily do 90 there no worries.

I like the fact if I ride quicker in NSL's then I can get into work quicker, thus reducing dead time. Riding over speed limits as well, as long as there is no speed cameras or more importantly people around then crack on.

If there are cars in a 30 doing 30 however I wouldnt overtake them, would wait for them to get into the NSL.

I think that you havnt grown up, just bored with your bike. Topping out a 125 is a whole different bag of tits to topping out a 600.

G's usual answer - do a trackday Smile.

Though this was what actually slowed my road riding down (or maybe it was expecting a big ban from getting caught doing all sorts of stuff).

I felt the same Gearboxguy, my little rs125 went to hell and back, but.. as time goes on you snap out of this cunt'ish way and think... hmm maybe this is foolish for me to act like this. then you pass your test, get a bigger bike.

and then the cunt'ish feeling you thought had gone..returns. Wink

You've just become bored of your RS. Get something that isn't the size of a toy and then you'll perk up again. Trust me, a larger capacity 4 stroke (even 350cc large) is a large jump from an RS.

I had a go on a KTM 660 supermoto whilst still on my 125, and never thought anything could be as fast from 0-80 ever again.

I don't do 90 in 30s on the DR, but do spend a large amount of time on one wheel whilst around those speeds, so not sure what is more dangerous.

Ive done the same, last summer and winter i was getting knee and pegs down werever i could, now, since passing my test and taking my mrs on the back EVERYday for the last 6 months, i haven't come close to getting either down, used to ride fast at every opportunity, now im more calm and road safe.

little annoying when you want to go for a rag and your limitations seem much smaller, but in the end its not a bad thing, doesnt bother me as i know im a safer rider now.
